new bumpers, trim, weather strip/door seals installed when restored, as I mentioned above, also the glass is all clean and clear with no cracks, or foggy spots,
The paint is a Cranberry Pearl and is in great, better-than-just-"driver"-quality- condition :),, it's not perfectly flawless, there are a few minor blemishes, (door ding on passenger door, scratch rear right quarter,etc-i can send you pics of anything or any area of the car you want, just let me know in an email), but as you can see in the pics, over all the paint is gorgeous, this is a flat out attention getter, you will have people breaking their necks and snapping pics with their cell phones every time you take her out for a spin.
As I said before the rockers are solid, floors are solid, NO RUST, this car never had rust, even the original battery tray and the passenger inner fender/wheel well under the battery tray is solid and not rusted out (like it is on most), this '71 was garage kept and well undercoated, it's a southern car so no harsh winters...
Yenko package was done right, all badges are licensed reproductions, there are so many detailed finishing touches, I'm probably forgetting some things,,,like billet steering wheel with "SS" logo, tach - pillar gauge pod, GM Mark of Excellence door jamb embossed logo, Chevy "Special Equipment" decal indicating disc brakes, etc.
Dual Flow-Master exhaust exit behind the rear tires, and sounds awesome, sound is supplied through a JVC am/fm CD player and Boston Acoustics 6x9's in the rear deck,,plenty of sound from those boston acoustics 6x9's, you won't be disappointed...
Vintage Air & Heat Ice Cold a/c-air conditioning-heating system with R134a over-the-counter refrigerant
New shocks front & rear, control arm bushings, steering - chassis components, tight steering and smooth ride, she handles like a dream, it's real easy to get up to 70-80 mph and not feel it-(the '68-'72 Nova's are based on the exact same platform as the '67-'69 Camaro and the Chevelles of that time as well, in fact many of the parts are interchangable...)
The brake set up is front disc - rear drum, works great stops on a dime,
Laser straight body with all nice - even panel gaps, when restored, it was not an amateur job by any means, not full of body filler or rotted out,100k orig miles and 42 years accident free, this was a nice car to start with
POSI-TRAC (Positive Traction) rear end with drum brakes & e-brake all work as they should,
all the sheet metal is SOLID, from the hood and deck lid, to the doors/door bottoms and floors-trunk
Drives like a dream, cruise on the highway in the comfort of cold a/c and get great gas mileage with the 4 speed transmission, doing 60-70 mph in 4th gear w/ the rpm down at 1800-1900 where it should be, drive this 1971 NOVA anywhere....

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes
Tue, 28 Aug 2012
Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks
Fri, Aug 1 2014If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.
