This is a great example of a survivor collector car. It has been well taken care of first by my grandfather who was the original owner of this southern California car. It was purchased for him by a vehicle leasing agent from the Martin Chevrolet dealership which is still in business in Torrance California. I took ownership of it when he stopped driving it in 2001. It only has 50K original miles, and has always been garaged. The interior is original and in great condition with no cracks, tears, or fading to the dash or seats, except for the original headliner which was replaced about 5 years ago because it was falling down. Original paint except for the bumpers, side mirrors, and hubcaps which have been touched up with color matched paint. The chrome bumper inserts are 3M side molding strips, but the original scraped up and faded pieces are in the trunk. The engine and engine bay were cleaned and the valve covers and manifold were touched up with original blue paint around 2002.

2014 Chevy Silverado High Country spied wearing trappings of new luxury trim

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

Spy photographers have spotted the new Chevrolet Silverado High Country and GMC Sierra Denali out on public streets for a little testing. From the looks of things, the Silverado will receive a much-differentiated front fascia along with special badges and those honking 20-inch chrome wheels. Expect to find a more posh interior as well. Likewise, the Sierra Denali will wear a tweaked nose with the familiar Denali bling. The one of the GMC trucks spotted here rolls on 21-inch gunmetal wheels instead of the 20-inch chrome pieces of the High Country.
Word has it both trucks will go on sale after the Texas State Fair this summer. While General Motors hasn't said for certain what we can expect to find under the hood, we'd be surprised to see anything outside of the range of engines found in the standard Silverado and Sierra models. That means buyers should be able to get their hands on the efficient, 23-miles per gallon 5.3-liter V8.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.
