This Impala SS is truly a one of a kind vehicle! As described above it was originally my grandfathers car until his death in 2001 when my father took it home and continued to love and care for it in his garage. Unfortunately, my father passed away about 2 years ago and my mother has decided to part with this beauty as she has no need for it. Everything is in great condition on this car.
This car is as close as you will likely ever find to a brand new 1995 Impala SS. I can truly say it has been loved and cared for exceptionally. My father never drove this car in the rain and it definitely never saw snow, ice or road salt. It's an all NC car owned by one family. The only service, aside from routine maintenance that has been done to this car was the replacement of the electric water pump about 5 years ago by a trusted, factory trained Chervolet mechanic. Though the pump never leaked and still functioned there as 1 drop of antifreeze in the weep hole and I distinctly remember my father calling me to ask for a ride home from the mechanic because he was "worried" the pump was reaching the end of its life. That just shows the kind of fanatic that owned and loved this car. I'd be pleased to show you this car if you're in the Raleigh NC area. I can also text you more photos if you're interested. Please don't hesitate to call me on my cell at 919 924 1010 if you'd like to discuss anything about this car. I can promise if you're interested in one of these vehicles you will be very impressed. There is a lot to be impressed with on these Impalas. This car is a joy to drive and has awesome power! Tires are original and have only 6900 miles on them. Tread looks great and there is minimal dry-rot. See photo all match. On Jul-03-14 at 08:27:40 PDT, seller added the following information: This Impala SS is truly a one of a kind vehicle! Chevy keeps teasing next Camaro, 70 percent of parts unique to it [w/video]
Thu, Mar 19 2015Mary Barra reportedly confirms GM's electric pickup truck plans
Tue, Apr 30 2019According to Motor Authority, CEO Mary Barra confirmed General Motors' intentions to build an electric pickup truck this week. Whether or not it would be an all-new vehicle is unknown. The news comes not even a week after Ford announced a $500 million investment in electric-vehicle startup Rivian. First, electric powertrains were integrated into cars. Then came the crossovers and the SUVs. Naturally, then, the next wave will be pickup trucks. Ford is set to produce an electric F-150, Rivian has the R1T, and now General Motors has reportedly confirmed its plans to introduce a competitor into the field. The article says the topic was brought up in a recent investor call as part of a brief overview of the automaker's electrification strategy. That's where the details end, however, as there is no indication of a timeline, what GM brand would carry the truck, or whether it would be an entirely new product or an adaptation of a current model. The latter seems most likely, which points to the Chevrolet Silverado or the GMC Sierra as possibilities. Chevrolet has been GM's electrification leader this decade with the Bolt and Volt, so an electric Silverado would align well with that messaging and branding. However, an electric pickup would likely be a pricier premium product, which could align it better with GMC. Autoblog has reached out to GM for comment and will update this space when we get a response. 2016 Chevrolet Camaro First Drive [w/video]
Fri, Oct 16 2015The Autoblog gang was downright stoked to learn the 2016 Chevy Camaro was next on our test-car docket. Then we found out it was the V6 model. Buzzkill. We were hoping for the snorting V8, or at least the spunky new turbo four-cylinder. The V6? Meh. We've been driving V6 Camaros for, like, six years. It's what you buy if you can't afford anything better, or so say horsepower snobs as they wrinkle their noses and cut their coffee with 93 octane. But after a week with the six-pot Camaro, we'll admit it: we were wrong. The all-new 3.6-liter V6 is strong, sounds good, and is damn fun to drive. Its 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque appear modest by modern standards, but they power the Camaro to 60 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds with the automatic, or in the case of our manual-equipped test car, 5.2 seconds. That's almost half a second quicker than the new turbo four-cylinder model. Yes, it has the same displacement as the old V6. No, it's not the same engine. Upon closer inspection, the V6's potency shouldn't come as a surprise. This engine is from General Motors' newest family of dual-overhead cam powerplants that launched in the Cadillac CTS and ATS. Yes, it has the same displacement as the old V6. No, it's not the same engine. Don't be fooled, and don't underestimate it at stoplights. The strapping V6 is unsuspectingly good, but it's just one of many improvements for the sixth-generation Camaro. Chevy's coupe is lighter, faster, and more modern looking inside and out. It starts with a rear-wheel-drive chassis donated from the Cadillac ATS, though about 70 percent of the components are unique to the Camaro. The 2016 model is about two inches shorter in length (thanks to a shorter wheelbase) and about an inch has been removed from height and width compared to the 2015 model. These lighter underpinnings jumpstarted the Camaro's weight-loss plan, and thanks to extensive use of aluminum, the V6 with the new eight-speed automatic transmission weighs 3,435 pounds – 294 less than its predecessor (the manual-transmission V6 Camaro weighs 3,448 pounds). The V8, meanwhile, sheds 223 pounds. One by one, these elements would merely enhance how the Camaro drives, but taken collectively, they invigorate the new model. It feels much more confident and agile in all circumstances. Put simply, it's a sportier car. View 32 Photos Grab second, let the revs build, and the dual-mode exhaust changes its tune from a low buzz to a rumble, then a growl.
