1971 CHEVY C10 "CUSTOM" SHORT BED. TRICKED OUT... THIS IS MY SHOP TRUCK GENTS, WE BUILD PROTOUR CARS. This truck started out Black...on Black, (gorgeous too( first, we slammed it softly, 4" front, w-spindles and springs, second, we bagged the rear with 2500lb Firestones. (Manual Fill) We block sanded the crap out of it (60 hrs +) and laid a radical silver flake base, we again sanded it...and laid 5 coats of Base custom blended Copper Pearl, again sanding it, ... and laying 4 coats of gold-green mixture peal clear coat. This truck is outrageous....killer in the sun. The sides are silver. We then applied Standard New School Chevy trim....and hated it......so we color matched it.....and got the look....! Clean & Mean... She drives like a Porsche, seems to be on rails, and I've met the other side of the seat a couple times...you can't hang on. Awesum performance as is. We added updated 4 wheel disc brakes to cure my lead foot, and poor vision and depth perception...bitch getting old. The motor is fairly fresh, starts like they use to, touching the key without pumping the shit out of it. MSD ign. Nice Carter carb. a Little chrome..detailed. We paid close attention to ride.........and she really rides like a caddy....yet slam it into a corner at 60, and it WILL surprise you. This truck is Old School vs. New School.....we prefer OLE SCHOOL................thanks. HAPPY BIDDING....you get'in a killer ride. We BUILD & RESTORE OLE SCHOOL..............street only. First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
Race Recap: 2013 Twelve Hours of Sebring, cakewalk up front, grindfest out back [w/spoilers]
Tue, 19 Mar 2013This year's 12 Hours of Sebring wasn't exactly a foregone conclusion because we're still talking about racing, and anything can happen when the speeds are as high as the adrenaline and the desire. But we're still talking about Audi bringing it's two top-spec racers - and its huge budget and its nearly neurotic attention to detail - to a race that it uses as a test bed for The 24 Hours of Le Mans and as a way to open the endurance racing season with a victory.
Besides, 12 hours is a long time, especially at Sebring, and things didn't go all Audi's way. On top of that, although it was a pretty quiet race, behind the Audis things got even grimier, with plenty of battles, plenty of mechanical issues, and the new BMW Z4 GTE and Viper GTS-R being race tested. Oh, and that brand new chromed-out DeltaWing...
C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
