1997 Chevy 3500 Dully on 2040-cars

I'm selling my 1997 Chevy truck as I haven't any need of it anymore. It
has a new this last summer PT flatbed put on it. The motor is not a
rebuild but a 454 crate motor from GM and now has around 38000 miles on
it. The trans is a HD 5 speed with only 7500 miles on it. The rear end
was rebuilt with with new seals and bearings and all new 3.73 gears, and
only has around 9000 miles on it. It had springs for a 2 ton installed
and another 1 ton helper springs in the rear. You can really put 3 ton
on the rear and it will not bottom out. The most I have towed with it
was a 21000 lb 45' 5th wheel and the truck did it with out any issues.
The truck runs and drives like new and I have it setup to haul any
trailer out there. It has a 10,000 lb goose-neck, 24,000 lb Super 5th
wheel, and 10,000 lb bumper hitch as well. I used it as a hot shot
hauler and moved camping trailers with it all over the US and Canada. It
has 4 new tires and 2 still good useable ones so it can be put right to
work. It has had almost everything in the front end replaced as well.
Like Tie-rods, ball joints and wheel bearings. The brakes are about 1
year old as well as the rear shocks. Over the past two years the guy I
got it from and myself have put close to $9500.00 into the truck and it
is more then ready to start working with it. The only bad is that a tree
limb fell on the passenger back corner of the cab. That broke the back
window out of the truck and left a dent, so I jacked the window opening
back out to put a new glass in. As I'm out of work and don't have the
money at this time to finish putting the glass in and fix the rest of
the dent, I am selling it cheap. This truck will pull anything and keep
on going. Only the Truck cab and frame has over 267000 miles on them
and the rest of the truck has been upgraded. Really this is a work horse
and has years of life left in it, so don't let the miles on the
odometer scare you. You could jump in and drive from here to California
and not have to worry if it will make it.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
Trophy truck chases Sasquatch driving a side-by-side for Recoil 3
Fri, Nov 13 2015Last year's Recoil 2 video of BJ Baldwin blasting through the outskirts of Ensenada, Mexico, in his trophy truck was already a fantastic improvement over the original clip. For the third installment in the series, he and his amazing camera team somehow turn up the excitement even higher. Rather than going back to the desert, Baldwin heads into the woods of the Pacific Northwest for some Sasquatch hunting in Recoil 3. Not only is the mythical beast quite real in this video, but it's apparently quite good at piloting a side-by-side too. The result is a high-speed chase through the forest that eventually moves to the urban jungle. Like in the previous Recoil clips, Baldwin showcases his amazing control over the 800-horsepower truck, and the suspension soaks up serious punishment from some huge jumps. The cinematography makes the stunts look even more exhilarating by always showing the perfect angle of the action.
