THIS IS MY 67 CAPRICE CONVERTIBLE. YES I SAID CAPRICE. IF YOU KNOW YOUR CHEVY'S YOU KNOW GM DIDNT OFFER A CONVERTIBLE VERSION OF THE CAPRICE IN 67. THIS IS PART OF THE REASON I BOUGHT THE CAR, I LIKE THINGS THAT ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT. THE CAR LOOKS AND PERFORMS LIKE IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY AS A CONVERTIBLE. THE PERSON WHO DID THE CONVERSION DID A REALLY GOOD JOB. IM SURE THEY USED ALL THE MECHANICS FROM A 67 IMPALA TO DO THE TRANSFORMATION. I GAVE MY SON MY 67 IMPALA CONVERTIBLE AND WAS SICK ABOUT IT SO I HAD TO GET ANOTHER ONE, I GOT THIS INSTEAD. CAPRICE IS THE LUXURY VERSION OF THE IMPALA, AND THIS ONE HAS ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES, AC, PWR. WINDOWS, SEATS, AND THE TOP OF COUSE IS POWER. IT IS POWERED BY A BIG BLOCK 427, THE ONLY THING IVE DONE TO THE CAR IS TUNE IT UP, CHANGE ALL THE FLUIDS AND PAINT IT BLACK, MY FAV. COLOR. IT RUNS VERY WELL, IVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A COUPLE MONTHS, BUT I AM A CERTIFIED CAR NUT, AND NOT A RICH ONE, SO IN ORDER TO FINANCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS CORVETTE THATS BEEN KEEPING ME UP AT NIGHT, I GOT TO SELL THIS CAPRICE. CAR GUYS WILL UNDERSTAND THAT LAST STATEMENT. LIKE I SAID ITS A GREAT CAR, DUAL EXHAUSTS, 427 ENG., HAVENT BEEN ANY LONG DISTANCES IN THE CAR, BUT ON SHORT TRIPS ON WEEKENDS IT PERFORMS VERY WELL. THE SEATS ARE A SPLIT BENCH, WHICH LOOK LIKE BUCKETS ON TOP, BUT ARE ACTUALLY A BENCH ON THE BOTTOM. THE INTERIOR WAS DIED FOR THE ORIGINAL GOLD, ITS FLAKING IN PLACES, ONLY ONE SMALL TEAR THAT I RECALL, IT HAS THE BOOT COVER FOR THE BACK. ANY QUESITIONS FEEL FREE TO ASK, IF YOUR LOCAL FEEL FREE TO COME AND INSPECT. IM SURE IM FORGETTING SOMETHING CAUSE ALL IN CAN THINK ABOUT IS GETTING THAT VETTE. WINNING BIDDER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SHIPPING COST, I WILL HELP ANY WAY I CAN WITH THIS. IVE SOLD SEVERAL MUSCLE CARS HERE ON EBAY, AND MY FEEDBACK IS STILL 100 PERCENT. BID WITH CONFIDENCE. THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
