1989 - Chevrolet Blazer on 2040-cars
Tucson, Arizona, United States
This K5 Blazer just finished a beautiful restoration. 100% rust free Blazer Silverado. It is finished in 2 stage black and gold paint which has been wet sanded and polished. Starting with a rust free truck makes a finish like this possible. The interior is amazing. I prefer the captains chairs from the Suburban, so I located them and had the completely redone in beautiful soft leather. These seats have both arm rests, making driving a pleasure. All of the foam was redone, including the arm rests. The rear seat was done in matching leatherette and I had the hard plastic arm rests covered in foam and leatherette and as u can see it came out great. Because of the milage the original carpets just needed to be cleaned, and as u can see in the pictures they look great also. During the restoration all of the window channel fuzzies and window pane wipes were replaced, this was also done for the rear window. If you know these trucks you know that with a tan interior you would have a variety of shades, ranging from tan to brown, nothing really matched. I took the time to dye all of the plastics and vinyl the same color and as u can see in the photos it makes a huge difference to the interior. The windows were a little slow before the restoration, and after all of the new items were installed and the doors reassembled unfortunately they are now very slow, and will most likely need new motors, I did grease the lift mechanisms when the doors were apart. The door locks are inop.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

Chevy Sonic shreds like a skateboard
Tue, 19 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London.
In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around.
If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
