Selling my lovely van. I'm the only owner, got it brand new, needed van because of two little kids, car seats, strollers and other baby stuff would not fit in regular car. Now with bigger kids there is no need for big van.

About the van now. Body in great shape, never was in any accident, you may find a scratch or two from normal use, can't see them in the pictures and barely visible by naked eye. Interior is clean, no spills, leather seats in great condition, no rips or tears. Always had all weather floor mats in it, so carpet still looks like new. All electronic equipment work as still new.

Van is heavily loaded,  equipped with power sliding doors, power rear door, Navigation, Back Up Camera, Sirius satellite radio, DVD player with 2 screens, also when in Park, you can watch trough Navigation screen, heated front seats, folding seats into the floor.

Mechanically all sound good, only 16000 miles on it, so still factory warranty available. All still original matching Bridgestone tires still have like 70% left on them. Van always was serviced only by local VW dealer, i have all maintenance records available.  If you get this van you will be happy, i always taking good care of my vehicles. You are welcome to see it in person, call me 212-945-8209 to arrange the meeting.

Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018

Thu, 04 Apr 2013

Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.

VW announces recall of 26,000 2014 models with 1.8T engines

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

Volkswagen has followed up on a stop-sale order from earlier this month, announcing a voluntarily recall of 26,400 vehicles that are powered by the brand's 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The new mill replaced the despised 2.5-liter five-cylinder in the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible last year. Weirdly, though, of the 26,452 units covered in the recall, only 1,655 are customer vehicles.
According to VW, the affected models were built between February 1 and April 6 of this year, and feature bad O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler. Apparently, the faulty O-rings could cause a fluid leak, as they won't seal between the oil cooler and transmission. VW is blaming a material change from a supplier for the problem.
There have been no fires, injuries, accidents or fatalities relating to this issue, which VW will be fixing free of charge. Customers will need to report to dealers to have the O-rings replaced.

VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
