2004 Volkswagen Phaeton V8 Sedan 4-door 4.2l on 2040-cars
Topeka, Kansas, United States
This is an extra clean, low mileage Volkswagen Phaeton with the V8 motor. It is a great road driver and has the security of all wheel drive. The only money I have spent on this car was to have it aligned. I also have acquired a Phaeton with the W12 motor and with larger after market wheels. The W12 motor sends it down the road with great ease but the V8 has more than enough power to satisfy all but the most crazy power freaks. A problem I have found with these vehicles is that not many of them have made it into Kansas and to get work done on them I have had to take them to Kansas City, Missouri, to find competent technicians. I need to sell these vehicles and replace them with something familiar to local technicians. My name is Darrell, I am located in Topeka, Kansas, my telephone number is 785 266 4215 and my email is dmcneil1@cox.net. I prefer to communicate by telephone. I will be happy to show this car and to provide additional information, and to assist in shipping as required. I have priced it reasonably at $12000, and think that most will agree that this car is worth my price. I will be glad to provide information regarding the W12 vehicle should you be interested in it but it will take a bit more money to buy it. |

Former Porsche CEO Wiedeking indicted over VW takeover bid
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Do you recall the failed efforts by Porsche to take over Volkswagen? According to a Bloomberg report, former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (above) and ex-CFO Holger Haerter have finally been charged with market manipulation over the exercising of options as part of the German sportscar manufacturer's ill-fated attempt to take over the much larger VW. That failed bid eventually resulted in the reverse coming true - VW swallowing Porsche.
The charges leveled by Stuttgart prosecutors come after a three-year investigation centered around allegations that Porsche execs made a concerted effort to increase the company's share in VW to 75 percent in preparation for a hostile takeover. Porsche had previously told its investors on at least five occasions that it had no intention to buy VW.
Portions of the investigation have subsided, according to prosecutors, citing an inability to prove certain improprieties with a "necessary degree of certainty." The number of charges is down to 5 from a previous 14 counts regarding "information-based market manipulation."
Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish
Wed, 10 Jul 2013A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
