 1971 Westfalia. Documented California bus.
85k documented original miles. 100% Original paint, solid rust free body. New "Strictly Foreign" 1776cc engine. New freeway flyer transmission, Kennedy clutch. This van has NO RUST.... New front brakes, pads, and hoses. New rear brakes, cylinders. All new shocks. New drag link, (tight front end / steering). All wheel bearings repacked. Mechanically this bus is like new. Freshly painted front and rear bumpers as well as wheels. New front seat upholstery, pads and three window pop top canvas. All new pop top seals. I have all receipts for work that has been done. Not every day do you see a 71 Westfalia in this kind of original condition.

Engine / Transmission
- New 1776 Super Street engine built by Strickly Foreign (One of the best in the business) New AS41 dual relief case, 69mm crank, Maule 90.5 mm pistons, Grant rings, Web cam .358 lift, 270 duration. Dual port heads with hardened seats and stainless steel valves. 40mm intake valves, 35.5 exhaust. 8 to 1 compression ratio. 1.1 w/ solid shafts and swivel feet rockers, Maxi 3 oil pump, heavy duty steel push rods. 8 dowel fly wheel. Rebuilt card, new alternator, repainted engine tins, bus heater boxes, exhaust, fuel lines motor mounts. (Every thing is new or rebuilt to much to list) This van has been through a complete mechanical restoration. The bus runs and drives perfect way to much to list, call for more info....

Transmission - New freeway flyer transmission. Kennedy Clutch, new pressure plate and through out bearing. The bus shifts crisp and precise.

Paint / Body
- 101% original paint. No really all original paint...... This van has zero rust.... I chose to do a (preservation restoration) to this van. Documented California bus. California id plate still present below Westfalia plate. The bus is arrow strait. There are some minor dings and dents. There is NO BONDO on this van. I chose not to touch up the paint and let the van wear its dings and scrapes with pride. I took the van to a very good detail shop to have the paint polished. It turned out beautiful. This van has been mainly garaged or kept under cover all these years. The battery tray does have some corrosion (not rust). I have a replacement but did not want to weld it in and risk damaging the paint.  I replaced the windshield and gasket. All other glass is OG and rubber is in good condition and not leaking. Floors are perfect and paint still looks new with no surface rust what so ever (see pics)

Pop Top - Brand new pop top 3 window canvas, All new pop top seals. Upper cot in good condition, I had the original fiberglass top professionally cleaned. New correct Westfalia decals

Interior - New front seat upholstery to factory color, new door panels, kick panels. Dash is excellent condition, original after market 8 track, New birch wood headliner, all upholstery on rear jump seat and z bed is original. Original Formica floor. All cabinets are in excellent condition. Sink pump works great. All electrical works perfect including camping, dome lights and OG buzzer when key is installed. The original child's cot for over the fronts seats is in like new condition. Custom made curtain set.

Brakes / Steering
- New front brake calipers, hoses and pads. New rear wheel cylinders, shoes and hoses. New drag link, front and rear shocks and alignment. This bus stops and steers and rides like new.

Other - Brand new tires including spare. Sand blasted and painted wheels and front and rear bumpers, rare splash pans. I used stainless steel bolts for the rear bumper. New ignition switch, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter, voltage regulator, coil, ect. All original blinkers, lights glass ect. The heater works extremely well in this bus do to the factory VW bus heater boxes. Rare factory tow hitch.

I spent countless hours preserving this rare bus. I have regretfully decided to sell this bus out of my personal collection. I intentionally did not do any paint touch up on the body. I spent hours removing small areas of primer put over the nicks and scratches on the paint to reveal the amazing og paint. I did not clear coat over the dings, instead I keep the bus stored inside my shop and keep a light coat of grease over the nicks and a few of the small dents/scrapes to prevent surface rusting. I know this seems a bit extreme but I wanted to be able to say this bus has 100% original paint. The interior was kept as original as possible. only replacing the seat upholstery, door panels and a few other odds and ends. When you see the pictures of this bus you will see all the imperfections are shown with pride on this bus. There are many things I have done to this bus I have not listed as there is to much to list. With the updated 1776 Super Street motor, freeway flyer transmission and suspension and brake work this bus runs and drives amazing with quite a bit more power and better gearing than stock making this bus perfect for cross country/ long distance driving. No expense or man hours were spared on this build. 1971 is the most sought after year for collectors as its the last year for the upright motor, first year of the disc brakes and still retains the classic bumpers and low lights. Feel free to call with any questions as there is way to much to list. Very hard to find a documented rust free California bus in this kind of original condition. This bus has 85k original miles as documented on the service stickers on the driver side door jamb. This is a no story's bus with no hidden problems like so many other "restored buses" on the market today. This is the perfect center piece for any VW collection.

**** I can have this bus shipped to your front door at whole sale cost
I also can ship world wide

Volkswagen forced to sell stake in Suzuki

Mon, Aug 31 2015

The six-year-long failed marriage between Volkswagen and Suzuki has finally come to an end. Almost. An arbitration panel in London issued its final verdict which, according to a VW press release, cleared Suzuki in terminating the agreement, so VW now needs to get rid of its 19.9-percent share. However, the tribunal's decision said VW performed all of its obligations and Suzuki didn't – the Japanese carmaker should have given VW last-call rights for a delivery of diesel engines, but failed to. The breach opens Suzuki up to damage claim, but so far VW only says it reserves the right to sue. Now that Suzuki has an outside investor to provide funds it meant to get from VW, perhaps both can get back to their reasons for being. The press release is below. Ruling in arbitration proceedings: Cooperation between Volkswagen and Suzuki deemed terminated - Arbitral tribunal confirms Volkswagen met contractual obligations and finds that Suzuki has ordinary right to terminate agreement based on reasonable notice - Volkswagen to dispose of its 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki and expects positive effect on Company's earnings and liquidity from transaction - Arbitrators also find that Suzuki breached its contractual obligations to Volkswagen under the agreement and that Volkswagen has right to claim damages Wolfsburg, 30 August 2015 - An arbitral tribunal in London has announced its ruling in the dispute between Suzuki Motor Corporation and Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. As a result, cooperation between the two parties is deemed terminated. The arbitrators confirmed that Volkswagen met its contractual obligations under the cooperation agreement and found that Suzuki has terminated the agreement upon reasonable notice. Volkswagen will therefore now dispose of its 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki and expects a positive effect on the Company's earnings and liquidity from the transaction. The arbitral tribunal also confirmed that Suzuki breached its contractual obligations to Volkswagen under the agreement and that Volkswagen has the right to claim damages. "We welcome the clarity created by this ruling. The tribunal rejected Suzuki's claims of breach and found that Volkswagen met its contractual obligations under the cooperation agreement. Nevertheless, the arbitrators found that termination of the cooperation agreement by Suzuki on reasonable notice was valid, and that Volkswagen must dispose of the shares purchased.

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.

Volkswagen Golf Wagon caught completely uncovered

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Without a lot of information to go with them, our camera-toting spies have captured some new images of a Volkswagen Golf wagon variant that is almost completely undisguised. In fact, the one piece of camouflage on the tidy wagon would probably have gone unnoticed to most casual viewers. Look closely at the rear three-quarter view of the car and you'll notice that the apparent taillight clusters are actually fakes - the outline of the real units is faintly visible behind the blue bodywork and the sticker-like fake taillights.
It's a good guess then, that this Golf wagon (called a Golf Kombi by our spy photographer) is a prototype that's pretty far along in the development cycle for Volkswagen. We can't be sure what impact this will have on the company's small wagon offering here in the US, but we'd be pretty surprised if something very like this didn't end up as the next Jetta SportWagen. We might well have more information on that front, after we visit Geneva next week.
