I'm Proud to offer one of the NICEST Original Paint, 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL Survivors in the world with only 102k original miles!

It took us over a year to find a Vanagon this nice. Congratulations, your search is over, you have found your DREAM VAN!

You will be HARD PRESSED to find a nice one! This IS one of the NICEST Vanagons available the World! Many enthusiasts will say this is the best year of the Vanagons, being the last year they made this body style. Its an Automatic so its EASY for anyone to drive.

We purchased this all original 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon GL from the original owners estate, they took exceptional care of it. This super exceptional and un-restored original is a great example of just how nice a Volkswagen Van can be with a history of proper care, maintenance, and being garaged. It displays beautifully for being 23-years-young and being garaged since new. No oil leaks, or funny stories. It’s extremely dry with no cancer, the undercarriage will surprise you with how clean and dry it is. This van draws a lot of respect from knowledgeable enthusiasts. Be prepared to get tons of compliments, waves, and many smiles when taking it out. It runs and drives great.

Please check the Carfax report / Autocheck report as it has the HIGHEST possible scoring. It has a beautiful exterior and original complete interior with all 3 rows of seats. It’s a 7 passenger van, It has power windows, power mirrors, cruise control, power steering, front air conditioning and rear air conditioning (will need charging) original factory AM-FM cassette player with upgraded Kenwood speakers, folding rear seat that could be used for camping, and more! The number of nice survivors is very low in this condition. Without question, it is certain to be a standout in any serious collector's stable or your  family.

It just had a complete $500 servicing performed by a certified retired Volkswagen mechanic including a Complete tuneup, fresh fluids throughout, new wiper blades, etc, Its ready to cruise into its new chapter in life and create memories with your friends and loved ones. It just passed California emissions a few weeks ago with flying colors. The technician said its one of the nicest he has ever seen.

Please remember this is not a restored Vanagon; it has some minor dings, scratches, and minor paint touchups over the years, which is common for being  23 years-old. Those who have been looking know how impossible it is to find a Vanagon in this condition. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to own this one.

World wide shipping is available. The only reason were selling is I just purchased a Boat and needed a truck to tow with otherwise we would keep it. Its ready for the new lucky owners. We will work with you and your shippers to insure a smooth transaction throughout.

In closing, somebody is going to be the Lucky winning bidder! Please promise me you will enjoy it, cherish it, maintain it, and treat it like a member of the family. Thanks good luck and happy bidding.

Touring the Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

Forgive the ribbon up top - this isn't so much of a Read This as a Look At This. Ran When Parked took a tour of the sprawling Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg, and while there's a spot of text about the different and unique vehicles on display in the rotating exhibits, it's largely the collection of pictures of odd, one-off VW-badged cars and vans that excites. If you're a fan of the weird and wild, this is a post you'll want to look at.
As RWP points out, this is the larger, but less busy, museum targeted purely at Volkswagen products. The smaller AutoStadt museum, meanwhile, covers a much broader swath, with products from other Volkswagen Group members. Volkswagen iBeetle gets integrated iPhone dock, little else

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Apple fans have been itching to see the tech giant flex the full muscle of its iOS operating system in an automotive infotainment system for years, which is why we turned all sorts of excited when we caught wind of the Volkswagen iBeetle. The machine is headed to the Shanghai Motor Show for a debut, and VW promised it would be one of the "first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." Listen closely, and you can hear the contented sigh of a million wallets opening.
Go ahead and close those up, kids.
In reality, the iBeetle offers little more than a dash-mounted dock and a special app that shows a few vehicle functions, which is about as far from an infotainment revolution as you're likely to find. In fact, the setup is little more than a factory rehash of aftermarket items, and hardly worth a whole model debut at an international motor show. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Apple relishes in changing the shape and form of its darling handheld at every generation. Volkswagen better be prepared to keep pace with appropriate docking mechanisms for the upcoming iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, et al.

North American production of foreign marques to jump in 2014

Sun, 23 Dec 2012

Wards Auto has released its North American Light Vehicle Production Forecast for 2014, and the report predicts foreign manufacturers will increase production on the continent some 3.9 percent by 2014. If accurate, that should see 123,000 additional cars, trucks and vans produced in North America, swelling the total number of units produced both by domestic and foreign manufacturers to 16.9 million light vehicles from a projected 15.6 million in 2013. Much of the increase can be attributed to the fact that Toyota intends to produce another car at its Blue Springs, MS plant as well as a new Lexus model at its Georgetown, KY facility in a year's time.
Likewise, Volkswagen intends to move production of a currently imported model to its plant in Puebla, Mexico. Daimler, Honda, Nissan and Mazda also plan to build additional models on North American soil for the first time. Around two-thirds of the new North American manufacturing will take place in Mexico, helping the country soak up a full 20 percent of the content's automotive production for the first time. You can head over to the Wards Auto site for the full report.
