1976 TRIUMPH TR6 ROADSTER EXTREMELY ORIGINAL NEVER RESTORED SURVIVOR

Complete original and unmolested 1976 Triumph TR6 showing only 26,000 miles . As delivered new in the desirable factory color combo of Delft Blue with black interior . This was an original North American import and has spent the better portion of its life in storage . We have known this car since it came to this area here in southern New England on January 26, 1989 from a dealer in St Louis Missouri . The odometer mileage statement at the time that is still with the car showing just 21,273 miles . The last state inspection sticker on the car being from 1990 shows 21,722 miles . The subsequent owner stored the car almost always , driving it only occasionally during summer months over the next 20 years and it has since accumulated little mileage and now shows just 25,940 miles . With the overall unmolested original condition of the car we believe the mileage to be original . This car is unusual in that it shows like a 3 or 4 year old car as it would look in the late seventies . It is totally original . It has never been apart . It has never had any rust , panel replacement , accident damage or paint work . It still retains also , its original factory convertible top , interior upholstery , carpeting and Michelin redline tires . The current collector car market is showing a strong upward trend in preservation class cars . If you are one of the new breed of collector who is seeking the most original cars they can find , this may be exactly what you are seeking . . The car has a few imperfections , none major . The original factory paint shows some small scratches , chips and minor dings and some brush touched spots , which is keeping with the general character of the overall condition of the car. The undercarriage shows very light surface oxidation where undercoat has worn off from road use , but again , all original panels . The car was originally Zeibart rust proofed ( a common dealer add on when new ), as evidenced by the black residue which still shows on many areas of the car as well as the yellow plugs you can see in the door jambs . The car also had an alarm system installed , probably also when new at the dealer which was also typical in this period . The alarm has since been removed with the exception of the activator , which is still evident on the left front fender . Most all of the chrome is good and original , some showing just light pinpoint pitting . The car starts easily and the engine is very lively . It runs , drives , stops and shifts just as you would expect a car in this original condition to . All lights , horn wipers and gauges are in working order .It also comes complete with original tonneau cover , boot cover , matching original redline spare tire , jack , correct British Leyland radio , original keys and owners manual . If this car needs anything , it would be that it needs to be driven ! This car is for the buyer or collector who is looking for a great original TR6 in very nice unmolested condition . The astute buyer will immediately recognize how truly rare this car is , or any car in this condition . It is not something that is often seen , and increasingly harder to find , as they rarely are offered for sale . Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
