2000 Toyota Tundra V8 SR5 4x4
147,000 miles (approximately, it is still driven and could go up) The truck is in good mechanical shape with no issues. It runs great and needs nothing. Cosmetically it is not a garage queen, it has scratches and dings typical for a 14 year old truck. These can be seen in the pictures. The interior is in good shape for the age and cleans up well. The truck includes the following modifications: • Blisten 5100 Shocks • Shorty Headers • True dual exhaust (little on the loud side) • Trailer Brake Controller • Hitch • Plastic Bed Liner • Brush Guard Included (not installed) • Tonneau Cover Included (not installed) The truck also includes a fairly new touch screen Panasonic stereo. It has Blu-Tooth and microphone for hands free calling. Very nice unit. The previous owner did install the brake controller and towing accessories. I have never towed with the truck but the brake controller does power up and appear to work fine. The lower ball joints were replaced recently. The previous owner had the timing belt and water pump replaced at around 110,000 miles. The tires are fairly new and the truck has a fresh VA inspection. TMG's super Lexus LS Sports 650 gets track tested
Thu, 05 Sep 2013The people at Toyota Motorsport GmbH have been responsible for the Japanese automaker's motorsports efforts since the 1970s, but since Toyota pulled out of Formula One after the 2009 season, the tuning shop has been developing a super sedan based on the Lexus LS called the Sports 650. Details on TMG's first road car have been scarce, but XCAR was recently invited to drive the 641-horsepower Lexus on track.
Here's what we know: the Sports 650 has enough power to sprint to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds, tops out at 199 mph, weighs over two tons and utilizes LFA brakes. Oh, and its twin-turbo V8 bellows like an AMG V8. That last part isn't surprising when considering TMG could become Toyota's in-house tuning arm - like AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. As for the bespoke body kit, fender flares and stacked exhaust pipes? They fit the car well and even remind us a bit of Lexus' other high-performance sedan, the IS F. Currently there are no plans for the Sports 650 to be made into a production car, but we doubt TMG is devoting this much effort developing the LS into a road-rocket for nothing.
Check out XCAR's video below to see the AMG-fighter wrung out on track, and then ponder what could be if TMG were let loose to fiddle with other cars in Lexus' lineup. Now that's something we could get used to!
2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Ultimate Edition
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Introduced at the end of 2006, this is the last year for the Toyota FJ Cruiser, the reincarnated FJ40-series Land Cruiser that will shortly journey to Takama-ga-hara, the Plain of High Heaven. In its first model year, we drove it to SEMA and found it, shall we say, coarse. It bobbled on the freeway and droned in the cabin, its boxy interior providing four bounce-boards for unpleasant frequencies. Tall mirrors helped one work around the eclipse of vision aft of the B-pillars, but navigating traffic required forethought and technique. Its turning circle was measured in kilometers. For the first two years of its life, it needed premium gas. It may have been fun to look at, but we couldn't wait to get out of it.
That's not the case anymore, and now the FJ Cruiser is poised to join a long list of vehicles that got better and better, then got axed.

Toyota, Kaley Cuoco grant wishes in Super Bowl XLVII ad
Mon, 28 Jan 2013For viewers who plan on watching the Super Bowl only for the commercials, here's one for you to enjoy ahead of time. As we saw in the teaser video that Toyota released last week, will be making the transition from Big Bang to The Big Game as a wish-granting genie in a commercial for the 2013 Toyota RAV4.
Though not as entertaining as the actual teaser for this commercial, it still garnered a couple chuckles from the Autoblog crew. We won't spoil it for you, but a word of advice: if Cuoco ever shows up in your driveway granting you wishes, we'd suggest you be very clear what you want... and enunciate.
