Here is a rare and collectible 1992 Toyota Supra Turbo Targa with 110,200 miles, extremely low for a 21 year old car. The 92 Supra is by far the rarest MK3 Supra as only a little over 1000 were sold in the US. The 92 was the ONLY year the color Teal was offered and the ONLY year which the shadow gray leather seats were offered. It is also rare to find a 92 with Targa top as most 92s had either hard top or a sunroof. This car is almost completely stock, even the factory radio and factory exhaust which is very quiet.
I have only owned this about 6 months, bought it with the intentions of keeping it, but poor health has made me lose interest. In the 6 months I have owned it , I have only driven it a total of about 100 miles. I would STRONGLY suggest it be trailered or shipped as it has not been driven on long enough trips to be proven.
It has some positives and some negatives. As for positives, the previous owner spent almost $6000 on repairs and I will furnish his paperwork. These repairs include a rebuilt head, rebuilt turbo, new head gasket, and some front end work, all in the last 1500 miles. The engine sounds great, very smooth, no smoke , no knocks. The automatic transmission shifts properly and I noticed the cruise works. I believe all lights work and all glass is good, no cracks. The paint appears to be original with only some light touch ups on small dings. The trim around the windshield and rear glass is much better than most MK3 Supras. The interior is the best of the shadow gray leather I have seen. ( I have owned and parted out MK3 Supras for several years) The dash is mint, steering wheel is good, door panels are good, rear carpet is good, hatch cover is very good, rear seats are amazing, first original leather Supra rear seats I have seen which are not cracked on top. The tail lights have no cracks, as this is hard to find. It also has a new battery.
For the negatives, there is a sound ,a sort of rubbing / grinding sound, I believe is in the right front wheel, could be in the wheel itself, could be a wheel bearing, or it could simply need aligned, I don't know, and I have not felt like messing with it. The brakes seem soft and may need some attention. The heater works fine, but the Air Conditioning does not, all components appear to be there, it may just need charged. This is a 21 year old car and it has its share of parking lot dings and scratches. There is also a dent on the passenger rear quarter as can be seen in pics and the rear bumper and rear spoiler each have a bump. I noticed one spot on the drivers door where there is some rust bubbling. This car will come with a full size spare of the same 5 spoke 92 aluminum wheel, the original targa tool kit, the original 92 Supra owners manual in the original pouch from the dealer where it was bought new. I will assist in shipping by taking it to a shipping transfer point for a nominal fee. I will accept deposit by Pay Pal ONLY, the remainder will have to be in cash or a certified check if it is to be shipped . This is a very low reserve auction , please bid to win. I can take pictures of any other areas you may want to see if you ask for them. If you have less than a feedback of 10 please email me and convince me you are real and serious or your bid will be canceled. Thanks for looking.

Supra successor may be all-electric sourced from Tesla; MR2 returning too?
Wed, 14 Nov 2012Rumors of a revival of the Toyota Supra and MR2 have been swirling for years right up until just this week when high-level Toyota employees all but confirmed their return.
But now The Detroit Bureau has put together news from different sources suggesting that the next Supra might be all electric. The report cites recent comments from Toyota senior executives hinting at plans to work with Tesla on a new joint project. The FT-HS Concept (shown above) seems a logical inspiration for a new Supra.
And on the other side of the equation is Tesla's design chief Franz von Holzhausen who was quoted last year saying his company was looking at its next project, probably a sports car, that would follow next year's intro of the Model X. He went on to suggest the car would compete directly with BMW's 3 Series, which, in coupe form, could be a worthy competitor to a Supra as well.
2020 Ford Explorer vs 3-row crossover rivals: How they compare on paper
Thu, Jan 10 2019The 2020 Ford Explorer has finally landed, and if history serves as an indicator, it should be bigger than sliced bread. And people sure love themselves some sliced bread. This new Explorer may look familiar on the outside, but beneath the skin is a radically new rear-drive platform related to the Ford Mustang (as opposed to a front-drive platform related to the Ford Taurus and a Volvo from the 1990s). Turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines now exclusively rest under its hood, which as you'll see below, both better anything its competitors offer. Ah, but if you're curious to know how the new 2020 Explorer compares to its various three-row family crossover rivals, take a look at the chart below where we stack it up against the 2019 Chevrolet Traverse, 2019 Honda Pilot, 2020 Hyundai Palisade, 2019 Subaru Ascent and 2019 Toyota Highlander. There are others of course (Mazda CX-9, Dodge Durango, GMC Acadia, VW Atlas), but we only had so much room on the chart, and these were the newest and/or most likely to be cross-shopped with the new Explorer. Engine specs and towing Although the Traverse's V6 just nips it on horsepower, the 2020 Explorer's base 2.3-liter "EcoBoost" turbocharged four-cylinder engine smokes it on torque. Therefore, "best-in-class" power seems like a fair claim from Ford. That there's also a 365-horsepower turbo V6 available, plus a hybrid and even-more powerful ST model on the way shows that Ford isn't kidding around under the hood. Curb weight also seems competitive for the segment. In terms of drivetrain, the Explorer is the only member of this particular group to come standard with rear-wheel drive (2.3-liter only). The Durango is the only other three-row, non-luxury crossover to do so. This is significant for two reasons: First, you could potentially do a power slide in an Explorer. Second, and more important, those in the Snowbelt will have to opt for all-wheel drive (it comes standard with the 3.0-liter). By contrast, a set of winter tires will probably do the job just fine if you want to save some money and gas by sticking with its rivals' standard front-wheel drive. Well, except for the Subaru Ascent — that's standard with AWD. In terms of towing, the Explorer takes the cake with as much as 5,300 pounds for the four-cylinder and 5,600 pounds for the V6. Everything else tops out at 5,000, though again, the Durango is capable of besting them all thanks to its Hemi V8 engine option.
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
