Up for sale this week is my 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX.  This is the 2.0 turbo motor, 5 spd manual.  This car has 115k miles on it, and allthough its not perfect and has its small quirks, This is a 1 owner adult owned car!!  This car has a CLEAN AND CLEAR TITLE! I will try my best to describe everything below but it is ultimately the buyers job to come and inspect the car prior to purchase.  Hopefully my feedback and number of years on ebay speaks volume.

*INTERIOR- The interior is a 8 out of 10. Like most cars it could use a good profesional detail.  There are no rips in the seats or cracks in the dash. the radio and c.d. work great, the ac and heat are good. this car was a NON smoker.  This has the MOMO steering wheel.  with all power options.  *i noticed a mouse nest in the trunk spare tire area last week, i did clean it, but it does still have a slight smell.*

*ENGINE - The engine is a 7 out of 10. This is the 5spd, 2.0 4 cyl turbo motor.  this thing runs like a champ!  i did a tune up on it last year (plugs and air filter and cleaned throttle body)  Every once in a while the car throws the check engine code of P0304 (cyl 4 misfire VERY COMMON ON THESE) But doesnt happen all the time.  I did buy a a new COIL for it, just havent installed it yet.  i will throw this in with the sale.  This car has original 115,000 miles on original engine.  The transmition is smoothe and the clutch is beautiful!

*EXTERIOR- The exterior is a 6.5 out of 10. As you can see by the photos the right rear wheel well is rusted/roughted. i have no idea how this happend, we do live in new england and do have salt on the roads??? This is the royal blue paint (most common) the rest of the car is in pretty good condition, the rear bumper has some very light scratches and so does one of the fenders. and the front of the hood shows normal light signs of pitting".  All the lights work on the car, the tires are about 70% and breaks are about 50%. it will most likely need brakes and rotors soon.  Also i recieved a recall notice for the front lower control arms to be replaced due to rusting and breaking. I HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET.   You can get this done free at your local dealer.

**I am a private person selling this car to the best of my knowledge. i AM NOT A MECHANIC.  You are more than welcome to and view every inch of the car before buying it, in fact i highly recomend it.  I can only tell you what i know and see.  I am selling this car because i bought a new one and since they didnt want to give me more than 1000 trade in value, i decided to sell it on my own.  There is NO Warranty or Guarantee with this car.  Due to all the slight issues noted above.  If  you have any questions please ask BEFORE buying car, not after.

*** I accept paypal, bank certified checks and the good old "you know what" in hand.   a non refundable 500$ deposit is required within 48 hours of auction close.  You then have 7 days to pay the balance in full and 10 days from auction end to remove the car from my property in Bridgewater, MA 02324.  If the car is not removed after 10 days you will forfeit any money paid. This is not a game, i cannot wait for you to get a personal loan, please have all the funds available when bidding. these auctions cost money, please dont waist my time, because i will chase you for the fees!  If driving the car home, i can pick up from BOSTON LOGAN Airport.  please let me know... if using a car carrier we are located in Bridgewater, MA 02324.  But it is ultimately THE BUYERS RESPONSABILITY TO REMOVE CAR WITHIN 10 DAYS FROM END OF AUCTION.   If you have any good questions, please ask before auction ends.  *ATTENTION new bidders!... if you do not contact me first i may cancel your bid as you are deemed a risk.

Toyota 86 most likely to get more power through more displacement? [w/poll]

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

The Sydney Morning Herald has spoken to Tetsuya Tada, chief engineer of the Toyota 86 (our version of it, the Scion FR-S, is pictured above), and they've been promised that more power is on the way. We've heard a lot of speculation about a more powerful Toyobaru since before the standard model was even launched. The only question now is how the power will be delivered, and among the engine concepts we've already heard about - turbo, supercharger, twin-charged, hybrid - is a new one: more displacement.
Tada said that an engine with more displacement than the current coupe's 2.0 liters is being tested alongside a turbocharged and a hybrid-assisted motor. The SMH cites "inside sources" as saying the displacement option is the one likely to get the go-ahead, and suggests increased bore and stroke will see the engine grow to 2.5 liters, horsepower to about 250 - a 50-hp increase over the present car.
While that's apparently the betting man's solution for the long-awaited increase in gumption, what happens with the next generation could be more wide open than we suspected. According to the report, Tada "hinted that [a successor] could be a radically different car, potentially dropping the boxer engine altogether." He said once they've sorted out the concept for the second generation car, then they'll sort out an engine. That's where a turbo option could come to market, perhaps the turbocharged four-cylinder Toyota is developing for the Lexus NX crossover or a hybrid system that uses a capacitor.

Nissan exec Andy Palmer derides Toyobaru coupes as 'midlife crisis' cars

Mon, 28 Oct 2013

Andy Palmer, Nissan's executive vice president, does not like the Scion FR-S or Subaru BRZ. To us, that's like saying you enjoy barbecuing puppies, but we'll let him slide, because his statements about the Toyobaru twins are much, much more than just idle trash talk.
Speaking to Motor Trend's Nate Martinez, Palmer said, "Do we have any competitors [in the small, rear-drive coupe segment]? Are you talking about the Subaru [BRZ]? It was a car designed for a 50-year-old. It's for a midlife crisis. That's not what we do." Strong words, but what followed was even better.
"Are you coming to the Tokyo Motor Show? You'll see the answer to the midlife crisis. Except it won't be for the midlife crisis." So, if you were wondering whether Nissan is working on a competitor to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, the answer seems to be a resounding "yes."

Six 'shut up and take my money' cars

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."
