We are selling a 2006 Scion TC with 189k miles.  It is loaded with alloys and panoramic roof.  This Scion is priced low because it needs some work however it does run very good. The engine, transmission, and clutch are in perfect working condition. The body is in nice shape for the mileage but please see all the pictures for exact condition.  The windows are tinted and the only modifications are an exhaust and cold air intake system.  Tires all have at least half tread remaining.  Now for the bad.  It needs brakes all around (already on metal and making noise).  The driver and passenger power windows both are not working.  The a/c does not blow cold. Lastly, it will not stay in 5th gear unless you hold it there (pops out by itself).  Otherwise this Scion runs great and can be driven anywhere.  There are NO warning lights on the dash at all! That is everything we are aware of with this car. Feel free to come inspect and drive it yourself before bidding/buying. This vehicle may or may not pass inspection in your state, it will be your responsibility to do the necessary repairs to get it passed (if necessary). We take trades, and accept credit cards for full/partial payments. We can also arrange delivery anywhere in the country (ask for a quote). Feel free to call with any questions 516-543-4600 or text 516-428-5742. Thanks

Toyota GT86 engineer Tada recounts how sports car came to be

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Because the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ coupes are now a reality, it's almost hard to imagine the struggle that had to happen within the large, conservative corporate structures at both automakers for the joint project to even get off of the ground.
Speaking to those struggles on Toyota UK's Toyota Blog, GT86 Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada enlightens us with a recap of the sports car's earliest origins. For Tada, the first stages of the project must have seemed almost as dreamlike as the final product is to drive.
Said the Chief, "I had been working in the minivan department engineering new product, but a month after the meeting I was summoned. 'Forget about minivans,' they said, 'you are now working on the sports-car project.'"

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.

Toyota FT-86 Open Concept leaves us feeling flushed

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

When last we checked in on our topless would-be hero, the Toyota FT-86 convertible had been reportedly placed on "indefinite hold." That was back in early October, not long after Toyota had trotted out the rear-wheel-drive canvasback to Scion dealers as a possible future product carrot if they decided not to turn in their franchises. And yet, we're here at the Tokyo Motor Show, where Toyota has taken the time to at least repaint the FT-86 Open Concept in "Flash Red," if not build a whole other car (the original Geneva showcar was white). It's enough to make our heads spin like a teenager on the verge of a breakup. Will they? Won't they?
At this point, we still don't know any more than you do - the last word we heard out of Toyota was not encouraging, although the story was that the program could still be fast-tracked if management had a change of heart. As the car has never been seen before in Japan, perhaps Toyota is merely extending its domestic audience a courtesy view before it lines this showcar in mothballs, or maybe they're still trying to make a decision on its fate and gauging public reaction on the homefront.
Interestingly, in a new story published today, Automotive News quotes Subaru brand boss Yasuyuki Yoshinaga downplaying the likelihood of a production model, saying flatly "We make the car, so if we don't make it, it can't happen." The executive went on to note, "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It would need a big change." Given that such a car would probably trade in rather small volumes, that sounds like a significant hurtle.
