THROUGH PAY PAL OF $300 IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO HAVE THE FULL REQUIREMENTS & YOU ARE VERY INTERESTED PLEASE CONTACT ME THIS IS A 2001 PORSCHE BOXSTER CONVERTIBLE . IT ONLY HAS 58827 MILES. IT HAS A  2.7L 2687CC H6 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated ENGINE, IT IS REAR WHEEL DRIVE WITH A 5 SPEED MANUEL  TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A RARE 2 DOOR CONVERTIBLE WITH LOW MILES.  THE TITLE SAYS THE CAR HAS 53327 BUT THE DASH INDICATES THAT IT HAS 58827 MILES. THE CAR COMES FULLY LOADED WITH BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR.. DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS ARE BLACK LEATHER AND ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. THE VEHICLE COMES EQUIPPED WITH POWER LOCKS, WINDOWS, AND SIDE MIRRORS AND A CD PLAYER.  OVERALL THE INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE. THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS ALSO IN GREAT SHAPE. THERE ARE NO SIGNIFICANT DENTS OR BODY DAMAGE.. THERE MAYBE LITTLE SCUFFS OR VERY LIGHT SCRATCHES THAT ARE BARELY NOTICABLE.  THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS ALSO IN GOOD SHAPE, NO RIPS OR TEARS.  SOME OF THE WHEELS DO HAVE SOME CURB RASH BUT NOTHING TOO TOO CRAZY.  THE VEHICLE COMES WITH PILOT SPORT AND S PLUS SPORT TIRES. THE FRONT SIZE IS 205 50 R17, AND THE REAR IS 255 40 R17. THE VEHICLE DOES HAVE A NEW JERSEY SALVAGE FLOOD TITLE. THE CAR WAS INLOVLED IN A FLOOD AND THERE WAS SOME WATER DAMAGE..BEFORE READING FURTHER ON PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT A MECHANIC AT ALL, I JUST GET THE CAR AND MAKE SURE THE MOTOR IS NOT SEIZED AND CLEAN IT, SO I AM NOT 100% KNOWLEDGABLE ON HOW TO FIX OR WHAT TO DO AS FAR AS TROUBLE SHOOTING GOES. HAVING SAID THAT, I FOUND THAT THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER WINDOW DO NOT POWER UP OR DOWN. I COULD NOT OPEN THE HOOD OR THE TRUNK BECAUSE I COULD NOT GET POWER TO THEM TO OPEN.  CONSIDERING THAT I COULD NOT OPEN THE TRUNK OR HOOD, I WAS LIMITED TO WHAT I COULD DO. HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO SQUEEZE A JUMPER BOX AND BY PASS THE STARTER, FIND GROUND AND MAKE SURE THE MOTOR DID TURN.. THE MOTOR IS NOT SEIZED AND DOES TURN OVER.. I DID NOT HAVE THIS VEHICLE STARTED OR IDLEING , JUST A QUICK TURN TO INDICATE THAT THE MOTOR WAS NOT SEIZED.  PLAYING WITH SOME OF THE FUSES I WAS ABLE TO GET THE DASH TO LIGHT UP AND IT WORKS FINE AS INDICATED IN PICTURE, THE HEAT MODUEL WORKS AND DOES BLOW HEAT AND ALSO ILLUMINATE, AND ALSO THE HEADLIGHTS , HIGH BEAMS, BLINKERS AND BRAKE LIGHTS DO WORK. THE CAR ALSO DOES SHIFT INTO GEARS AND ROLLS TO INDICATE THAT NOTHING IS SEIZED. ALL IN ALL THIS IS A GREAT RARE CAR THAT NEEDS SOME TLC.. WITH THE RIGHT KNOWLEDGE THIS CAR HAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE WATER DID NOT GET VERY HIGH AT ALL, I HAVE BOUGHT OTHER FLOOD CARS AND I DID SEE CARS FLOODED A LOT WORSE. GOOD LUCK AND THANK YOU! THANK YOU AND PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF NEEDED, BEFORE BIDDING .. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE 15 OR MORE POSITIVE FEEDBACK I WILL BLOCK YOU UNLESS SPECIALLY ARRANGED. 2015 Porsche Boxster GTS [w/video]
Thu, 22 May 2014You know the sound: the startling pop-brraaap-pop-pop shotgun fire of unspent flammables coursing through exhaust pipes that usually signals a raw, naughty powerplant beneath the hood.
But when you're nestled in the Porsche Boxster GTS' snug seats, it's not a crackling small block V8 or a high-strung Italian flat crank making the devilish racket, but rather the new king of the Boxster/Cayman lineup, a 3.4-liter flat-six that produces 330 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
Within the emotional vacuum of a spec sheet, the Boxster GTS' pumped-up grunt seems pretty mild, with a gain of only 15 hp and 7 lb-ft, respectively. But the reworked acoustical experience goes a long way towards suggesting the GTS has a trace of racing blood in its veins, and might even be missing its catalytic converters. In addition to the sonorous, centrally positioned tailpipes, the cabin also fills with lovely mechanical strains thanks to the "Sound Symposer" acoustical amplifier that's trickled down into the Boxster/Cayman lineup from the 911 for the first time. Boxster S, we hardly knew ya.
McQueen's Porsche 917 from Le Mans races to the auction block
Mon, 23 Jun 2014Steve McQueen may have been the headline actor of the motorsport cult classic film Le Mans, but we all know who the real star was. Or rather, what: the Porsche 917. More specifically, it was the Gulf-liveried #22 - not McQueen's #21 - that won the race, making it one of the most iconic cars ever to drive across the silver screen. And now it's going up for auction.
This 1969 Porsche 917K, chassis 917-024, has a storied history both on and off the screen, even if it didn't win any (off-screen) races of note. This example was the first 917 to be campaigned in an actual race when Porsche handed it to Jo Siffert to drive against the Ferrari 312P and Ford GT40 at the Spa-Francorchamps 1000 Km race in 1969. Siffert found the early example too unstable and ultimately drove an earlier 908 to the checkered flag, but after 917-024 set the fastest time at the following year's Le Mans test day, Siffert acquired it outright.
The Swiss racing driver loaned the car to Solar Productions for use in the film, after which it returned to Siffert's collection until he was killed in an F1 exposition race at Brands Hatch in 1971. In a testament to how much he loved the car, it was 917-024 that lead the funeral procession. The car subsequently fell off the radar until it resurfaced in 2001 as one of the greatest barn finds of the new millennium. Now fully restored and resplendent in its original baby blue and orange, 917-024 is headed to the auction block at Pebble Beach where you can be sure that Gooding & Company will bring in a suitably high price for arguably the most iconic example of one of the most iconic Porsches of all time.
Autoblog Minute: VW Q3 financial woes, 2015 Tokyo Motor Show
Fri, Oct 30 2015Consumer Reports pulls its Tesla recommendation, the U.S. Copyright Office offers a ruling affecting car owners, VW gets hit hard with third-quarter losses, and lots of exciting news from Tokyo. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Consumer Reports pulls its Tesla recommendation, the U.S. copyright office offers a ruling that affects car owners and gear heads, VW gets hit hard with third-quarter losses, and lots of exciting news from Tokyo. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. After a week away testing vehicles for Autoblog's Tech of the Year award, we're back in the office to recap the week in automotive news. [00:00:30] One of the things you might have missed was Consumer Reports pulling its recommendation of Tesla's Model S sedan. The blemish for Tesla comes after a tally of reviews from customer surveys. The most common problem areas for the Model S as cited by survey takers included: the drivetrain, power equipment, charging equipment, body and sunroof squeaks, rattles, and leaks. So lots of stuff. Though they could not ignore a score of "worse-than-average", Consumer Reports still [00:01:00] highlighted the fact that the Model S was "the best performing car" they've ever tested. Telsa CEO Elon Musk took to social media to defend his sedans saying: "Consumer Reports reliability survey includes a lot of early production cars. Already addressed in new cars." And, "Tesla gets top rating of any company in service. Most important, CR says 97% of owners expect their next car to be a Tesla (the acid test)." In Financial news, Volkswagen took a hit and reported an operating loss of [00:01:30] $3.84 billion. This is the first such loss for VW in 15 years. Toyota reclaimed the crown as the world's largest automaker as well. It's important that it's not all doom and gloom for VW though in Q3. Sales revenues were up and the company's automotive division boasts $30 billion dollars in liquid assets. It's a sizable war chest that will no doubt come in handy, as the company has yet to feel the full brunt of the diesel emissions scandal. Good news for gear heads. The US copyright office [00:02:00] ruled in favor of mechanics and car owners by granting an exception to existing copyright law. The law was originally meant to prevent software pirating and bootlegging of Hollywood movies.
