This is a Super Clean 2 owner Boxter. Second and current owner bought in 98' when it was one year old. It had 3,000 miles. A Doctor ordered it new from Howard Cooper Porsche in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The second owner bought it when he was 69 years old. He is the Founder of the Famous Lil Indian Mini Bikes.  He is 82 now. It is always kept in a heated garage or air conditioned in summer. He hardly drove it. He mostly went with his wife out  to dinner and weekend drives in Northern Michigan in the fall when the leaves changed colors. He never went over 65 miles an hour in it always taking smooth country back roads going up the coast of Western Michigan. It has the dealer Pre Delivery Sheet with the Doctor's name on it and about 30 or more Manuals. All the original plastic bags under the hood and the original tool kit has never been used. This car has never been hit or wrecked. It is the original paint. All the original under hood decals stickers are still there. He Just put a the first set of tires on as the originals were wore out in the front. The car was just serviced with a oil Change with Mobil 1  0W40  oil  and inspection by Gilson Motorsports of Troy, Michigan a Porsche Specialist. He also put newer Boxter and better designed convertible top transmission arms with all new bushings and cables.New Battery. This car is beautiful and well cared for. It is his baby.  I do not think you can find a nicer cared for Boxter. It runs and drives awesome. A/C blows ice cold. Everything works exec. It does have a few minor driving flaws like two small rock chips. A very small  sized scratch on the edge of the left louver. Top is in good condition with a small blemish  in the center of the top. Back window is in good condition. Rims are real nice. The black leather Seats are in good condition with no splits or rips. Dash is mint. The car just beams with newness still like the day it was built. Look at all the latches still look new. No wear marks in the carpet or door panels. The headlights still have that new multi color shine when the sun hits them. A $500. deposit due when auction ends and to be paid in full  within three business days. car is not leaving until all funds are cleared. Shipping to be paid by buyer and I can help with that.

Porsche revisits the 911's dirty side with rally history film

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

It might not be a coincidence that there are rumors of Porsche revealing a safari version of the 911 at April's Beijing Motor Show, just as the Dakar Rally is about to begin. Adding fuel to the dusty desert fire is a just-released official video of Jeff Zwart driving the Porsche 953 that Jacky Ickx drove to victory in the 1984 edition of the race.
In the video, the seven-time Pikes Peak International Hill Climb winner talks about how he grew up with the 911; it wasn't only the car he learned to drive in, it was his choice of racecar no matter whether the course was tarmac or the dirty stuff.
You can decide for yourself if these recent events are mere coincidence while you enjoy the 953's exhaust note in the video below. If you've got the time to see the 953 during its race-conquering drive and find out what the ersatz Paris-Dakar Rally used to be, we've also included a broadcast of that 1984 race below as well. Fast-forward to 19:44 to see the Porsches cross the open dessert and 29:09 to watch one of them tackle the dunes.

Volkswagen and Porsche recall Touareg and Cayenne

Thu, Mar 24 2016

The Basics: Volkswagen and Porsche will recall about 800,000 units worldwide of the 2011-2016 Touareg and Cayenne, according to Reuters. Of these, there are 88,300 Cayennes and 46,700 Touaregs in the US. The Problem: A securing clip on the brake pedal hinge could be missing. This can cause the pedal pivot pin to move, and "the pedal could lose guidance," according to Volkswagen's statement. Over time, the problem might cause the pedal hinge to fracture, which could make it impossible to activate the brakes. Injuries/Deaths: Porsche's statement says, "this is a purely precautionary measure, as there have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern." Volkswagen's statement reports, "no incidents have occurred in the US to date. However, single events have been reported overseas." The Fix: Dealers will inspect the clip and reinstall it if necessary. If you own one: Porsche says it discovered the problem during internal inspections. Related Video: PORSCHE EXAMINES CAYENNE MODELS AS A PREVENTATIVE MEASURE Inspection of pedal hinge clip Atlanta, Georgia. Voluntary safety recall: Porsche is conducting an examination of 409,477 Cayenne models worldwide from model years 2011 to 2016 for a precautionary inspection, of which 88,300 are in the United States and 10,370 are in Canada. The reason for this is a clip may have become dislodged from the pedal bracket. We are implementing a voluntary recall to inspect all Cayenne vehicles built during that period to ensure the clip is present and to re-install it if necessary. The problem was identified during internal inspections and remedied in production. This is a purely precautionary measure, as there have been no reports of accidents or injuries as a result of this concern. ### Volkswagen Statement Volkswagen has notified NHTSA of an upcoming voluntary safety recall affecting approximately 46,700 Volkswagen Touareg vehicles from the 2011-2016 model years. In rare cases, a securing clip at the brake pedal hinge may be missing. If the clip is missing, the pedal pivot pin could start to move and the pedal could lose guidance. If this remains undiscovered, the pedal hinge could fracture after continued operation, allowing the pedal to dislodge. A customer may not be able to properly actuate the brakes with a dislodged brake pedal. A non-functional brake or reduced braking power could result in a crash. No incidents have occurred in the U.S. to date.

Top Gear drag races VW Golf R against McLaren 675LT and Porsche 911

Thu, Apr 7 2016

Top Gear's latest quarter-mile drag race in the collects three very different performance vehicles: the 296-horsepower Volkswagen Golf R, 424-hp Porsche 911 Carrera GTS, and 666-hp McLaren 675LT. While each of these cars sit near the top of their segment, they each come from totally different rungs of the sports car price ladder. Spoiler alert, the Golf R doesn't win. But the final results illustrate the diminishing returns of price and performance. For example, the McLaren is only about a second quicker than the Porsche to 60 miles per hour, but the 675LT costs over 2.5 times more that the GTS. Related Video:
