FIRST VEHICLE PICKUP IN PERSON ONLY, ABSOLUTELY NO SHIPPING AVAILABLE...iN ADDITION I WILL HAVE TO SIGN and DATE THE TITLE TO MAKE THIS A LEGAL TRANSACTION AND ABSOLVE MYSELF FROM ANY FUTURE ACCIDENTS OR INCIDENTS... I mention this because i know a lot of people like to leave the date area blank but I cannot do that, sorry.  Hi, Up for sale is my 1986 944 turbo.  I have owned this vehicle since 2003.  I'll start with the known problems BAD:  Has minor hail damage, mainly on hood but 1 ding or 2 on top of car and a spot here or there, not too bad though. Air conditioning compressor seals leak.  If you add freon it will blow cold but leaks down.  I don't recommend using it like this.  Compressor will need replaced.  The car runs rough until it gets warmed up. I believe it has a vacuum leak somewhere.  The idle control valve does not work and that may be where the leak is, i just don't spend much time with the car anymore.  It has a small oil leak presumably at the rear of the oil pan, mainly when boosting hard.  I have driven it like this since i installed this motor in 2005 and do not have to add oil in between oil changes.  Clock is missing, was sent for rebuild and the insides were not repairable.  Does not have limited slip tranny.  Cycling valve bad and not working properly so boost runs from LR boost enhancer directly to LR Dual Port wastegate, about 13 pounds boost.  To run more you'd need to add different chips and a manual boost controller  If i remember correctly i think one of the outer tie rods could use replacing. Paint old and faded, have to keep it polished and waxed to be real shiny Next up i will list the good stuff.

GOOD:  This car is mr. dependable and you can drive the darn thing anywhere.  I have not cleaned it up to present it to look like new, in fact i left it extra dirty. NO DASH CRACKS ! No electrical gremlins.  Original phone dials included too ! sunroof works properly. New lifetime odometer gear in 2006 or so. New fuel pressure regulator 2006 or 2007.  NEW motor mounts in 2005.  All work on this motor has been performed by myself.  Has a mint condition Lindsey Racing super 48 DRY (oil cooled only) turbocharger purchased directly from LR in 2005.  Has a LR o-ringed cylinder head with wide fire head gasket specially drilled with extra cooling holes by lindsey racing.  CAR RUNS NICE AND COOL, NEVER ABOVE TOP WHITE LINE. , i bought this from LR also.  Water pump and belts new in 2005 and only 20k on them, Cooling system works perfectly, and that is INCLUDING FAN OPERATION,  New updated style Oil pressure relief valve from LR in 2005, new coolant housing seals in 2005, SPEC stage 1 clutch and pres plate assy NEW in 2005, came from Lindsey Racing.  Radiator installed new in 2005.  Coolant overflow tank new in 2005.  Starter and battery both installed new around 2005 or 2006, i don't remember.  Lindsey Racing Dual Port wastegate NEW from LR in 2011 or so. They plugged 1 port for me so I run it as a factory wastegate but it will hold tons of boost if you choose to run that way.  Manual additional boost gauge in car for accurate readings, seen in pic under stereo.  BONUSES FOR PROMPT PAYMENT:  I HAVE THE ORIGINAL SHORT BLOCK FROM THIS CAR (minus the k26 turbo) AND SPARE PARTS AND THEY WILL BE GIVEN FREE TO A PROMPT BUYER.  TERMS: Immediate non refundable 500 dollar payment thru paypal, bring cash and valid I.D. for the remainder within 1 week of purchase and pickup vehicle.  Clear Illinois title.  You are responsible to pass emissions or vehicle inspect if required in your area, we don't do that here, it paased emissions in 2005 or so then they got rid of testing for older vehicles.   German license plate in photo not included ! Any questions please ask thru Ebay.  thanks !

Porsche's 959 is still poster-worthy after all these years

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

Today, we have the Porsche 918 Spyder. Before that, there was the Carrera GT. While both of those cars are dramatic departures from the traditional, rear-engine Porsche formula, they owe their very existence to another wild child of the iconic German brand - the 959.
Like so many of the great performance cars of yesteryear, the 959 was a homologation special, built just so Porsche could go racing in the clinically insane Group B rally series. Fewer than 400 959s hit the streets, but those that did were some of the most advanced cars of the 1980s. A rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged flat-six sent its power through a still-rare all-wheel-drive system, creating a race-inspired rocket that was, for a short time, the fastest production car on the planet.
Xcar has the story of the 959, from its inception to its conquest of the Paris-Dakar rally, which is interspersed with a drive of the legendary coupe. Scroll down for the full video.

2015 Porsche Cayenne spotted with facelift

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

Although it's only been a few years since the current Porsche Cayenne was introduced, Porsche seems to be working on a midcycle update for its big SUV possibly in time to welcome the smaller Macan. As seen in these recent spy shots, it looks like the Cayenne will be getting a minor face- and butt-lift, but it's hard to say what other changes are in store or when the updated model will hit showrooms.
Up front, expect the Cayenne's new face to resemble what was just revealed on the 2014 Panamera, and we could also see this SUV using some of the new engines introduced on the Panamera including the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 or maybe even the E-Hybrid model. We're guessing that the new Cayenne could debut sometime next year likely for the 2015 model year. In the meantime, check out the gallery of spy shots above.

eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. You can head over to eBay Motors for a closer look if you're feeling spendy.
