We built this car as a fun street and autocross car.  As is typical, now that it is done, he wants to move on to another project.

 

Engine:  Rebuilt motor with aluminum flywheel and remote oil filter. All new hoses, cap, rotor, fuel pump and relay AN lines from the fuel tank to the hard lines, AN fuel filter also cleaned the fuel tank out, new speed and reference sensors, ignition switch and starter. Powder coated 86 tubular header with custom 2.5 inch exhaust with resonator and muffler to a 3 inch tip. Installed a new alternator and AC delete bracket. Custom carbon fiber cold air intake and many powdercoated parts.

Drive Train: New Center Force clutch and replaced transaxle, rebuilt CV Joints.

Steering and Brakes: New power steering pump and rebuilt power steering rack. Rebuilt and powdercoated brake calipers new braided lines pads and turned rotors, new wheel bearings.

Suspension: MO30 sway bars, Koni yellow shocks and ground control coilovers on the front 250lbs and camber plates, all new bushings up front. Cookie cutter wheels with a published lip and center caps and black center aluminum valve stems and caps and steel lug nuts. New Dunlop Durezza Tires DZ101, 205/50R15.

 

Reupholstered factory sport seats NRG steering wheel master kill switch in the dash, all of the gauges work. Everything in the interiors works except the hatch release driver side seat belt is bad I was going to put a 5 point harness in but only got the lap belt in.

 

Custom carbon fiber rear bumper and leman style headlight buckets Custom BMW D2S projector fog lights.

Porsche ready to pick itself up after Le Mans failure

It's safe to say that things for Porsche didn't go quite as well at Le Mans this year as it might have hoped. After a sixteen-year gap, the winningest manufacturer in endurance racing history returned to the Circuit de la Sarthe this year hoping maybe not for outright victory in its first time back, but definitely a strong finish on which it could build on for next year. All the while it undoubtedly hoped its 911s would hold their own in the GT classes.
Unfortunately for Porsche, neither happened. After racing around the clock, and despite actually leading the festivities for some time, the best its 919 Hybrid could manage was an eleventh-place finish, lagging lamentably behind not only the other LMP1s (like the race-winning Audi) but also a handful of LMP2s. Meanwhile the LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am titles went to the factory-backed teams of its arch-rivals Ferrari and Aston Martin, respectively.
Not a stellar result, in other words, but Porsche is taking it all in stride - accepting that it has a ways to go while congratulating its vanquishing rivals in the video below. It's good sportsmanship if we've ever seen it. Next year's race starts now.

Jaguar F-Type coupe to cost more than convertible?

Jaguar may price the much-rumored F-Type Coupe above the F-Type Convertible, if a report from Australia's Drive is to be believed. What makes Jag think that such a pricing strategy would work? Porsche. Take a look at the German manufacturer's consumer site, and you'll notice that the Boxster is less expensive than the Cayman, despite being essentially the same car.
It's a fair point, and a price premium does a good job of emphasizing the sporting chops of the coupe over the open-air experience that normally entitles convertibles to higher MSRPs. It's unclear just how closely Jaguar will follow Porsche's example, though.
Both the Cayman and Cayman S boast an extra ten horsepower over a Boxster or Boxster S, and while this bump in grunt is negligible in every situation but an argument over which is "best," it isn't something to be ignored in the F-Type, particularly as cranking more power out of its supercharged engines should be a rather simple matter.

Porsche names new motorsport chief

Though it may have expanded into crossovers and sedans, Porsche is still a company with racing at its heart. You might even argue that Cayenne and Panamera sales only serve to fund the company's motorsports activities. Competition-spec 911 coupes still make up a large portion of the grid in any GT racing series, and those activities are presided over by the Porsche GT division (separate from its LMP1 program), which has just announced a changing of the guard.
Porsche's GT unit - which is responsible both for racing models like the 911 RSR and road-going models like the 911 GT3 - has until now been steered by Hartmut Kristen (pictured above, left) in his capacity as Vice President of Motorsport at Porsche AG. During his ten-year tenure, Kristen gave birth to the RS Spyder that competed in the American Le Mans Series and the pioneering 911 GT3 R Hybrid. He also fostered what Porsche characterizes as "arguably the most comprehensive youth development program in motor racing" and saw the marque return to Le Mans last year with a dominant 1-2 class victory.
Kristen, now 59 years old, is leaving the German automaker, but will remain an advisor to the company's R&D department. Taking over as VP of Motorsport will be Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, who has until now been head of the 918 Spyder project (a responsibility he will continue). Walliser (pictured above, right) was previously Porsche's general manager for motorsport strategies and will now be responsible for Porsche's GT projects on and off the track, while Fritz Enzinger continues at the helm of the LMP1 program in pursuit of better results next year than the 919 Hybrid achieved at Le Mans last month.
