1973 Signal Orange 914-1.7

Up for sale is my 1973 Porsche 914 in Signal Orange which is the original colour. The car shows quite well. It has had 1 repaint in the past, I would say several years ago as it does show some patina. I own a few other Porsches, 356,911SC, Cayman, and have purchased another 914 which is on its way, hence the sale of this one. I have been a PCA member for 5 years.

The interior is very original Brown with a very nice with a crack free dash, original seats with 2 very small repairs, 1 on each cushion (hardly noticeable). It also has the original steering wheel and Blaupunkt Radio which does work, however the car does require an antenna. The carpets have been replaced in the past. The targa top is also in very nice condition inside and out.

The engine retains all of its original fuel injection. The battery tray and hell hole are clean and solid. It is believed to be numbers matching, but I have not verified that information.

The front and rear trunk as well as the floor boards are solid. The longitudinal's are also solid.

The odometer reads just under 70,000 miles, but seems to have quit working in the past few days. It was working just prior to inspection 1 month ago. The speedometer does work.

All electrical works, lights, horn etc..

The vehicle just went thru a comprehensive out of province inspection. I had new front struts installed. the tires, exhaust and the rest of the suspension passed all of the requirements. While it was in the shop I also had a tune up completed and the fuel injection was also set up. The ignition switch was also replaced as it was intermittent. I will say that the car runs very well, but does take a few minutes to warm up. The car pulls very nicely thru all gears with no issues whatsoever. It also handles very well.

The original jack, partial tool kit, and Fuch spare tire are also included.

It will also be for sale locally and I have the right to end this auction at anytime.

I will also assit in shipping in anyway that I can, but the cost of shipping is 100% the responsibility of the buyer.

Please ask many questions as this sale is as is where is with no implied guarantees or warrantee.  I can take more photos if required.

Porsche 911 hybrid could get green light after all

Wed, May 13 2015

The prospect of producing a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 has been on and off the table more times than we'd care to count. But before the year is up, the German automaker will make up its mind whether or not it will put the idea in motion. Porsche currently offers more plug-in hybrids than any other automaker. And according to Porsche CEO Matthias Muller in speaking with Automotive News, the opportunity exists to expand the powertrain technology to every model in the company's lineup, including the 911. The sports car would likely be the next in line for hybridization, said Muller, giving Porsche a direct competitor to the BMW i8. It wouldn't be the first time Zuffenhausen would slot a hybrid powertrain into the iconic rear-engined coupe, having previously raced the 911 GT3 R Hybrid (pictured above), but it would be the first road-going version available to customers. "That is a technique which we at Porsche are very familiar with," Muller told AN, "so we can suppose that we could have plug-ins all over the model range, not only to save fuel but also to boost the performance of these cars." Currently the E-Hybrid versions of the Cayenne and Panamera which Porsche offers account for roughly 15 and 11 percent of their respective model lines' sales in the US, while the 918 Spyder, of course, is offered only as a hybrid. If the 911 hybrid gets the green light, that would leave only the Macan, Boxster and Cayman without the option of electric assist. Related Video:

Autoblog Minute: UAW and FCA avoid strike, Clarkson teases new show

Fri, Oct 9 2015

FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] FCA avoids a worker strike, a former Top Gear host teases us with a picture from Amazon's new car show, and Toyota predicts autonomous cars by 2020. I'm senior editor Greg Migliore and this is your Autoblog Minute Weekly Recap. A UAW strike of FCA was avoided thanks to a zero-hour tentative agreement reached this week. Worker concerns that were renegotiated in the new [00:00:30] deal include adjustments to the two-tier wage scale, health care costs, and production outsourcing. Now check-in with Autoblog as we update our reports on this evolving story. Shooting began on Amazon Prime's new automotive show starring the former Top Gear crew. That's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. Now Clarkson threw out a tweet from day one of filming on location at Algarve Motor Park in Portugal. The picture features the show's [00:01:00] three stars and crew posing with the holy trinity of hyper cars. That's a McLaren P1, a Ferrari LaFerrari, and a Porsche 918 Spyder. This Prime show is being called Gear Knobs though the name is unofficial. Now if a tweet is any indication of what we can expect, who cares what it's called this is gonna be awesome. (Eds Note: Clarkson tweeted Friday that the show will not be called Gear Knobs.) Toyota predicts drivers could be obsolete on highways as early as 2020, with technology dubbed the Toyota Highway Teammate or THT. Toyota is using a modified [00:01:30] Lexus GS to show what this is capable of. THT is already able to create a driverless freeway car that's capable of changing lanes, making passes and taking curves. Plus, it can keep safe distances from other vehicles. Toyota is currently testing this on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway. Those are the highlights from the week that was. Be sure to check out my full recap this Saturday. And I'll have some added insight on the BMW M4 GTS. For Autoblog, I'm Greg Migliore. [00:02:00] Show Logo Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Porsche 918 Spyder could lap the 'Ring even quicker [w/video]

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Porsche had a lot to crow about at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Not only did it debut the new 50 Years edition and Turbo versions of the 911 and the new hybrid and diesel versions of the Panamera, but while unveiling the final production version of the new 918 Spyder, it revealed the record lap it set around the Nürburgring.
The 918 Spyder's 6:57 lap time makes it the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the Nordschleife and the first to break the seven-minute barrier. But the driver who clocked the time thinks it can go even faster.
That driver was Marc Lieb, who has won the Nürburgring 24-hour race four times, making him something of an expert on the subject. In speaking with Australia's Drive TV, Lieb suggested that they could get even more out of the car, as you can hear for yourself in the video below.
