Up for auction is a matching numbers 1969 Porsche 912 Karmann Coupe. Vin number, 129022865 and engine number is 4096003. No COA, but I called Christine at Porsche of America and she said it was matching. This car just came from California and the suspension pan and floors are nearly perfect. Rockers are solid as well as jack points and torsion tube areas. The car was originally painted in desirable sand beige. At some point in time it had been painted chocolate brown. Now its been semi prepped for paint and as you can see from the photos, it has some more small spots to go. I really don't know much about the motor then what previous owner told me. He told me in 2011 he had it rebuilt with a big bore kit and installed weber carbs. He said it still needed a valve grind, and a battery to run.. He lost interest in the project and installed the motor to sell the project. For some reason installed in the engine compartment are two electric fuel pumps and a gas line lope on the mechanical fuel pump. I never tried to start it but I might this week. Has four nice fuchs and brakes seem to be in working order. I bought the car in a package deal and really wanted to keep both but I just cant pull it of so I have to part with it. Ebay will only let me list 24 photos and I have a ton taken already and will take and email any requested shots or areas. $500 non refundable paypal deposit required at the end of auction with the balance to be payed in cash, cashiers check or bank transfer. EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi
Sun, 25 Nov 2012EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.

1989 Porsche 911 Turbo rolls out of Harry's Garage
Sun, May 31 2015It's getting increasing hard not to feel a little envious of Harry Metcalfe's collection of vehicles, especially with his latest purchase. He now owns the trinity of '80s European supercars with an '87 Lamborghini Countach, an '87 Ferrari Testarossa, and the recent addition of an '89 Porsche 911 Turbo. With the other two already featured in videos, the example from Stuttgart gets the focus in Metcalfe's latest clip. These turbos have a reputation for being a bit of a handful to drive, and according to Metcalfe that notoriety isn't entirely undeserved. With no power steering, floor-mounted pedals, oddly placed controls and lots of turbo lag, this era of 911 Turbo is difficult to master. However, it's a wonderful challenge that really engages the driver, according to Metcalfe. While a very different vehicle from the Countach or Testarossa, it's clear that this 911 Turbo is still a beloved member in Metcalfe's trio of '80s supercars. Proof the Porsche 911 GT3 may get a manual transmission again
Mon, Jul 18 2016Porsche left fans of the manual shifter out in the cold when it launched the previous 911 GT3 solely with the PDK dual-clutch transmission. Porsche continued the trend with the GT3 RS. Now, it looks like past rumors were true, and Porsche may be looking to make amends with its neglected fans. Our spy photographers caught what appears to be the updated GT3 in the wild. The exterior is exposed and shows the typical track-oriented 911 fare: low chin spoiler, large rear wing, wide rear wheels and tires. Inside, it seems engineers have taken great care to hide the shifter. Somewhere under that big cone of foam lies the gear selector. Our spy photographers also note that the steering wheel lacks any sort of shift paddles and the gauge cluster doesn't have a shift indicator. If we could see how many pedals this 911 was packing, we could pretty much close the book on what transmission this car has, but we can't see them from the photos. This still seems like promising evidence that future GT3 owners will have the option to shift for themselves. Also, if our spy photographers are right, those owners will also be enjoying the same 500-horsepower flat-six of the 911 R and current GT3 RS. Related Video:
