Here for your consideration is a stunning 2011 Porsche 997 Carrera with under 12,000 original miles. Finished in Arctic silver and black leather. I purchased this car from the insurance company in 2012 after it had sustained front end damage. I took my time repairing this car for my personal use with the intention of the repairs being undetectable. As I intended this Porsche is in as new condition. I was drawn to the car do to the fact of how highly optioned it came from Porsche. It had a MSRP of nearly $90,000. Some of the major options include. PDK 7 speed transmission, Sport Chrono Plus package, Dynamic Stability Control, PASM Sport Suspension, 19 inch Turbo 2 wheels, Bi-Xenon dynamic headlights, Clear LED Tail Lights, PSM, Navigation, XM Radio, Bose Premium Sound System, Bluetooth, Heated Full Power lumbar Seats, Sport Exhaust, 911 Badging, and more. Besides the factory installed options, when I repaired the car I upgraded to a 997 Carrera GTS front bumper and spoiler incorporating a center radiator for additional cooling. The front hood, fenders, front bumper, headlights and front closing panel were replaced. I used all new parts with no expense spared. There is no filler in this car. The car retains its original paint from the doors back with no flaws. I replaced the driver side airbag and the passenger side airbag, and installed a full leather dash from Porsche. The car is complete with manuals, tools, Ipod connector, etc. The paint work is flawless as is the entire car inside and out. There is no wear, no nicks, scuffs or blemishes to be found. There were very small chips in the windshield which I could not live with so I installed a new windshield from Porsche as well as 4 new Michelin tires and a new battery. This car comes with New York salvaged paperwork so check the laws in your state regarding registration. I documented every part of the repair from purchase to final assembly in photos and appropriate paperwork. I would put this car up against any car on the market now. It looks as new, smells as new and drives as new.

UK Porsche GT3 owners are irked that other countries are getting better deals

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

Porsche 911 GT3 owners in the United Kingdom are up in arms, but it's not for the reason you might think. Okay, well it sort of is. See, it's been fairly well documented that 911 GT3 owners have had their cars grounded over concerns that the engines could catch fire. Porsche is rushing to build and install replacement engines in all 800 or so cars, scattered around the globe.
This isn't really the issue. The problem for these British owners is compensation. While the car's have been grounded, car notes still need to be paid. To deal with this, American GT3 owners are being paid $2,000 per month. German owners get 175 euros ($242 at today's rates) per day while a GT3 owner in Dubai is allegedly receiving $12,000 (it's unclear if this is a lump sum or a monthly payment). Basically, if you aren't able to drive your six-figure super car, you shouldn't have to pay for it. Seems reasonable regardless of the make.
British owners, though, aren't being compensated, and for 30 to 35 owners, that's not acceptable. They've banded together and are led by Sunil Mehra.

Father-son team grows close by building tuned Porsche

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

We've seen several heartwarming videos of kids bonding over cars with their parents, whether racing together or giving them as gifts. The story of Leh Keen and his father McGrath, though, is somewhat different. Not many dads are looking for a vehicle quite this mental.
As Leh tells it, his dad saw a video online of one of the wild Porsches from Japanese tuner Rauh-Welt Begriff and decided that he needed one of the creations in his own garage. Since Leh knows something about cars himself as a driver for Alex Job Racing in the United SportsCar Championship, McGrath put his son in charge of managing the build from the company.
When the car made it to the US for completion from Rauh's famed builder Nakai, father and son bonded over the red, widebody 993-platform 911. The final product is certainly eye-catching. Scroll down to watch the video that features not only an engrossing father-son tale but also a seriously wicked, tuned Porsche from one of Japan's finest.

Porsche Macan spied, all lit up and dodging flurries

Thu, 17 Jan 2013

We've seen the upcoming Porsche Macan testing on surface roads and even on the Nürburgring, but here we have our first spy shots showing a disguised prototype doing some winter testing in snowy conditions. Still obscured by plenty of camouflage attempting to mimic its larger Cayenne sibling, we still can't get a clear look at what the Macan's face and rump are going to look like, although it does appear that some details for the front lighting are starting to emerge.
Below the headlights, those are obviously decals trying to look like turn signal lenses, but it appears that there is still some sort of lighting being hidden judging by the small circles cut into the camo. Lower in the fascia, we can also see there are LED running lights not revealed on past prototypes. The entire rear end of this Macan prototype still appears to be tacked-on camo, but the side view appears to be in production form save for the poorly disguised rear quarter windows.
As we've seen in the past, Porsche engineers are still testing the Macan alongside the Audi Q5 with which it shares its platform. There has been no word as to when we could expect to see the Macan in production or concept form, but we'd have to guess that this compact crossover is getting ready to shed its camo very soon.
