2013 - Porsche 911 on 2040-cars
Connellys Springs, North Carolina, United States
The car has been regularly serviced (Oil changes, software updates) by our local Porsche dealer. There is no damage or any mechanical issues. There are currently 11,500 miles on the odometer. See picture of the original window sticker to see all of the options. I had the "Duck Tail" portion of the sport design package added right after I purchased the car. I did not want the front portion because it reduced the ground clearance in front and I have had experience with low front ground clearance on other vehicles. The vehicle's software was updated to reflect this change to keep the original spoiler mechanism from raising at high speeds (over 78 mph). I have the original spoiler and all hardware for the original configuration if one desires to return the car to the original configuration. The car is equipped with the 7 speed PDK / dual clutch automated manual transmission, so the car can be driven in fully automatic mode or in full paddle shifting manual mode. When in automatic mode, one can override the automatic program by using the paddle shifters. The car is a dark metallic brown (Anthracite Brown Metallic) with a Beige (Luxor Beige) interior. The two front floor carpets are black with the Porsche logo in them. There is an added Battery tender and connection in the front trunk as well as a never used front license plate bracket. Both Keys and all books and documentation are included. I will also include a Tan Porsche baseball cap. The top goes up and down very quickly and can be operated at up to 31 mph. It has a Glass rear window, not plastic. Tires are still in very good shape. There are no pictures of the engine bay because there is not much to see as everything is pretty well covered by plastic panels and ventilation fans. If there are any addition pictures that anyone might want just let me know. The car has always been garaged and regularly kept clean. The electronics and technology in this car are amazing. Several of the displays can be fully programmed to display all kinds of information (time, date, GPS info, navigation, radio information, Bluetooth mobile phone connection and caller-ID, maps, altitude, speed limit, mpg, fuel used, many engine parameters(gages), and more). Automatic dual zone air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats, memory seats, 14 way electrically adjustable seats(both sides), Homelink garage door control. All books, documents and both Keys are included. Do not hesitate to e-mail with any questions or additional pictures Factory Options: 14 way power sport seats, with memory (both sides), BOSE Audio package, Premium interior package, PDK, Automatic dimming mirrors, Heated seats, 20 inch sport design wheels, Wheel caps with Porsche Crest, Porsche Dynamic Light System, Sport Chrono Package, BOSE Surround sound, SiriusXM & HD Radio, 6-Disc CD/DVD Changer, Multi-function steering wheel, Porsche Crest on headrests, Added: rear sport design package "Duck Tail", Battery tender.

Translogic 166: Porsche 918 Spyder
Mon, Dec 15 2014In the same month that Porsche announced that its 918 Spyder is sold out, Translogic is getting its first (and likely last) shot at the plug-in hybrid hypercar. Our drive starts off in a very civilized fashion as we tour the 918 Spyder's e-power and hybrid modes, but the fun really starts when the naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8 engine roars to life in sport and race hybrid modes, augmenting the electric motors with an additional 608 horsepower for a total of 887. We even attempt an impromptu 0-60 test to see if we can match Porsche's gobsmacking official time of 2.5 seconds, but sadly we don't have the room to make a run on its 214-mph top speed. Watch as Translogic host Jonathon Buckley pilots this Porsche around an airstrip in Irvine, CA, with a focus on the many driving modes that set the 918 Spyder apart from anything else in the storied automaker's history. Follow Translogic on Twitter and Facebook. Click here to subscribe to Translogic in iTunes. Click here to learn more about our host, Jonathon Buckley.
Driving the million-mile Porsche 356
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Maybe you've seen or heard about the Porsche 356 with almost one-million miles (though it doesn't look like it), but Petrolicious finally has produced a video to show us what it's like to drive the 982,000-mile car. Guy Newmark's beautiful, dark-blue 1964 356C looks great in motion - much better than in photos - and serves to remind us not only what meticulous car care can do for old classics, but that old Porsches were built to last.
So how fastidious is Newmark about maintaining it? He takes the car to his mechanic of 40 years every 3,000 miles for an oil change and to fix anything that needs attention.
Newmark says his 356 "is everything you could want," and that he finds errands to do just to go drive it. We would, too. The next-best thing is to watch the inspiring video below of the well-traveled Porsche.
Next-gen Porsche 911 may include plug-in hybrid version
Thu, Jan 14 2016According to Auto Express, there's a plug-in hybrid Porsche 911 on the way, and it could arrive as soon as the introduction of the next-generation car. At the Detroit Auto Show, the UK outlet spoke to 911 product line director Dr. Erhard Mossle, who said the Stuttgart automaker was "working on different solutions" for the next iteration of its most iconic car, and, "of course, we are discussing plug-in solutions for the 911, but there are a lot of things to solve with packaging in the car and other things to solve. It will maybe be in the next generation, yes." "When we see the 911," he said, "we see the plug-in hybrid as a performance car." Since we just saw the introduction of the turbocharged powerplant in the 911 Carrera last summer, we can expect a wait of at least four years for the next powertrain evolution. Mossle said that any 911 PHEV would remain a sporty proposition and likely retain the flat-six engine, which would give more prestige than the four-cylinder 718 (Cayman and Boxster) yet still be able to satisfy emissions regulations. Mossle is echoing the comments made by Oliver Blume, chairman of the executive board at Porsche, at the Detroit show when Blume said the production version of the Mission E concept would be a sports car that happens to be electric. As far back as 2009, in fact, Porsche has been openly discussing an electric 911, the caveat even then being that it has to perform like a Porsche while providing decent range. In the middle of 2014 it was reported that the carmaker might make a 700-horsepower 911 Turbo S hybrid, by the end of 2014 it was reported that the automaker wouldn't make a 911 hybrid. A year after that first report, a 911 hybrid was back on, using the E-Hybrid system supposedly dismissed six months before, and then last November we got spy shots of a 911 with a supposed PHEV port. But with its Mission E work, and being designated to lead the Volkswagen Group's R&D into performance hybrids, a battery-boosted 911 might finally make sense. Related Video:
