Porsche 356 C Coupe Needs Restoration - Not A Kit Car Like Most Of These Listing on 2040-cars

US $18,250.00
Year:1964 Mileage:99999
Location:

Bluffton, South Carolina, United States

Bluffton, South Carolina, United States

Offered here is my Porsche 356 C Coupe RESTORATION project car.

VIN =128584

Engine # 704102

Color Code 6404 (Light Ivory)

As shown in the photos this car needs a complete restoration including major metal repairs and replacement (all of the typical 356 repair areas need to be addressed: Floor pans, Battery box, longitudinals, doors, closing panels etc.).

This project is not for a novice or for the faint of heart.

The VIN tag under the hood was not present when I acquired the car the vin stamping is readable. As mentioned above, the VIN # is found on the car's Driver side hinge cover plate.

The engine turns freely and does not make any odd sounds when turning by hand and it does seem to have compression, I do not know if this is the original engine for the car and I do not know the condition of the engine as I have never tried to crank it.

What's the car worth? You decide! You folks know the value of a restored 356 C Coupe in a desirable color. You also know the value of the parts included in this auction: 356 C Transaxle, Disc Brake System, 356 C Engine, Gauges, fuel tank, wheels, etc.   So bid accordingly. The winner of the auction (I reserve the right to sell her elsewhere) will receive everything shown in the photos: Car, wheels, engine, bumper, bumperettes, seats, gauges, ect.....).

The car came to me with a Georgia Bill of Sale (GA does not have titles for these old vehicles) which should be fine for export from the US or transferring to another state. EBAY does not have a provision for a Bill of Sale vehicle offering so I checked flood / water damage to alert buyers to PAY ATTENTION to the reality that she only has a Bill of Sale.

I will gladly assist US or international buyers with the transaction.

The 2013 Rolex 24-hour race at Daytona comes down to the last hour [spoilers, w/video]

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

It took 24 hours to run the race, but it was the last one was stuffed with the high action as four cars were still trying to figure out how to gain victory on the track and in the pits. Along with the obligatory crashes, spins, mechanical issues and retirements had come numerous penalties, a double-digit number of full-course yellows and two hours of fog that turned early Sunday morning into a stretch of parade laps.
The final hour would make up for the morning - drivers who might have been happy just to get on the podium had a shot at victory as the end of the race approached, and that turned into a few gambles that paid off, and at least one that didn't...

Porsche Macan configurator lets you build $110k crossover

Mon, 25 Nov 2013

Part of the idea behind the new Porsche Macan is that it's less expensive than its larger sibling, the Cayenne. But with a starting MSRP of $49,900, the base Macan S is actually $300 more expensive than the cheapest Cayenne. That, however, is just the start, as you can see from the online configurator.
As is often the case with German cars in general (Porsches especially), tick the right boxes and you'll soon be leaving that base price behind in a cloud of tire smoke. Start off with the Macan Turbo and you're looking at a base MSRP of $72,300, which is already over twenty grand more than the naturally-aspirated version. But even that soon escalates as the options pile on.
Aurum Metallic paint will set you back $3,120. 21-inch wheels, another $3,300. You'll probably want the air suspension, torque vectoring, the Sport Chrono package, adaptive cruise control and lane-change systems, and those each add over a grand to the price. A Burmester surround sound system is the single most expensive option at $4,290. And if you choose them all - and choose all the optional trim packages - you'll soon be looking at a price in excess of $110,000. That's enough to get you into a Cayenne Turbo... assuming you don't tag on all the options to that one, too.

Gemballa reveals new Porsche 991-based GT convertible

Sun, 16 Sep 2012

Gemballa went through the ringer last year, but rebounded with products that signal a complete turnaround. The latest is the recently-released Porsche 911 Carrera S with a Gemballa GT aerodynamics and technology package. Aero-wise, it includes carbon fiber additions beginning with a front bumper wearing the classic Gemballa air intake design and a lower, angrier splitter. New side skirts run from wheel to wheel, the final piece being a rear bumper in three sculpted horizontal sections featuring a rear diffuser tucked between six rectangular exhaust tips.
No engine mods have been made, but the technology part of the tune - springs that are 30 millimeters shorter yet still able to work with the PASM system - is claimed to make the car faster. Bringing things to a halt is a new Brembo brake system hiding behind 21-inch GForged wheels that are lighter than Porsche's standard 20-inchers.
The Gemballa GT aero kit runs €19,860 ($26,070 U.S.), which includes paint and installation if you happen to be in Germany, and we're assuming that includes the suspension modification, brakes and sport exhaust. The GForged wheels are another €9,895 ($12,989 U.S.) depending on your choice of tire. Check out the press release below for more info, and the photo gallery above for all the angles.
