1980 Blue on Blue Cloth T-Tops 301 Automatic Mileage as of this date is original 28,225 Kilometers ( 17,500 miles ) Original Uniroyal tires. Asking $18,000 OBO All Reasonable Offers Considered All of my cars are numbers matching with original drive trains. Including this one. Car was delivered new to Tasse Automobile in Hanmer Ontario in December 1979 or January 1980. Complete Vehicle owner history as well as other documents are enclosed online here. Sudbury Ontario is a large mining town with Inco being one of the biggest. Being a mining town, there could have been some instances of “fall out” from the smelters effecting paint jobs on cars all over the city. The owner at the time, named Eugenio Presot filed a claim to get the car repainted in 1994 but never proceeded to get it done. He filed a claim just as a precaution but just never followed through on it. Documents enclosed. There is no damage to the paint so I do not know why he filed or how it even got approved. Weird............... The car to this day has all of its original paint and it is in amazingly good condition. Very very nice and still sparkles like new despite having not been washed in so many years. The car is amazing condition and although you can’t say it is “like new” condition, it is pretty darn close. Just a gorgeous, original representative of a 1980 Trans Am in a very pleasant Tahoe Blue Metallic combo. Pretty much behaves like a 17,000 mile should. Starts, runs and drives pretty much like new.
This car originally came with Rally II’s but was changed to the Silver Snowflakes for bling appeal. You could always go back to Rally II’s if you wanted to. Contact Information Call or email me ( John Shaw ) about the cars. Do not call Tom please. Tom can assist you in seeing the cars since he is always there. I will discuss price and any other information that you want to know about the cars. Thank you John ----------------------------------------- John Shaw ...............

David Hasselhoff's own KITT replica up for auction
Tue, 08 Apr 2014Depending on when and where you grew up, the name David Hasselhoff likely conjures up images of Knight Rider, Baywatch, pop singer, or possibly a washed-up TV actor, but one thing that can never be taken away from The Hoff is his connection to one of the greatest automotive icons in pop culture. The Knight Industries Two Thousand, usually shortened to simply KITT, was the real star of Knight Rider for many fans. Based on a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, the car combined snarky quips for comedy relief and stunts to provide much of the show's actions. Now, Julien's Auctions is selling Hasselhoff's own replica as part of a larger sale of the actor's personal memorabilia collection.
This recreation is based on a 1986 Firebird and comes with all of the tech on the inside that now seems hilariously outdated, like the yoke steering wheel and plethora of buttons. The interior also thoughtfully includes a voice box with over 4,000 sound clips from the show. With a 5.0-liter V8 and an automatic transmission, performance is likely adequate and period correct. According to the listing, this car was created by fans and given to the Hoff. Sadly, the replica doesn't convert to Super Pursuit Mode like KITT could in later seasons, and we most associate KITT with conventional front-hinged doors to go with the power t-tops and ejector seats.
Bidding currently sits $27,500 with eight bids, since starting at $15,000. Julien's predicts it will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000. If there is some nostalgia for KITT in your heart, there is still plenty of time to bid.
1939 Pontiac Ghost Car commands $308,000 at auction
Mon, 01 Aug 2011For the 1939 World's Fair, Pontiac built a Deluxe Six bodied in Plexiglass. Part of the Previews of Progress pavilion in which General Motors' Futurama showed off what was to come in the world of autos, the 'invisible' Pontiac is credited as the first transparent car in America. And there were no shortcuts taken with its body: the Plexiglass form was fabricated by the company that brought the material to market in 1933, Rohm & Haas.
The see-through sedan was sold at RM Auctions' St. John's auction in Michigan on July 30, fetching $308,000. Not bad appreciation for a domestic oddity that cost $25,000 to build when new. You can check out the high-res gallery of its innards, including copper and chrome metalwork and white moldings and wheels, and get the exhaustive details on it after the jump.
Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.
