  • Trunk - Excellent Condition - no rust in trunk.  Trunk mat is the original mat.  It is in good condition, but could use a cleaning.

EXTERIOR:
  • Car was repainted once, before I owned it 2 years ago.   The paint is amazingly vibrant/shiny/glossy and turns heads everywhere you go.   I personally think the Solar Gold was the absolute perfect color for this car.
  • The "Screaming Eagle" hood decal, and all other decals are in perfect condition.  No fading, scratches, or deterioration whatsoever.
  • Car has added pin striping which give it a Y88 'clone' appearance.
  • I have an EXTRA set of T-tops from an original 1978 Trans AM SE Y88(the T-tops with the gold tint).  This extra set of T-Tops will be included in the BIN price listed ONLY.  These T-Tops are very limited production (only 1267 Y88's were ever made and thus these T-Tops are highly sought after/valuable).
  • There are a few spots that need attention(rear wheel wells), where rust bubbles can be seen.   If I was keeping the car I would think these should be addressed in the next few years at the most(see pics)
  • there is a small scratch/scuff in the paint on the left side of the front bumper and a small scratch on the rear bumper(see pics)...see my notes below in the 'Why I am selling' section.   NOTE...after I listed this, I noticed that my photo of the front left bumper that shows the scratch, is cut-off and you are not able to see the scratch.  I will take another photo in the next day or 2 and upload it.  In the interim...allow me to point out that the scratch on the front bumper is similar is size to the one on the rear bumper(which you are able to see in the pics).  Both of the scratches are only on the paint and did not scratch into the plastic bumpers whatsoever.

TIRES/WHEELS:
  • Stock size BF Goodrich Radial T/A - in new condition - less than 2000 miles on them.
  • Wheels...This is the best part...the wheels are SPECTACULAR.  They are as if they came off the production line yesterday.  Not one scratch or blemish anywhere.  Simply perfect.

WHY I AM SELLING:
  • I do not have enough storage space at my house(already have 4 other cars).  My idea was to store this car in my garage at home, but my kids scratched the front and rear bumpers(where I noted the scratches above).  I yelled at them for not being careful in the garage...and then I got yelled at by their mother.   She said that I over-reacted.   They dont understand how you put your heart and soul into something and want it kept nice.  So...now I have the car in storage(which is miles from my house), and can see that I am just not going to have the ability to 'jump in the car' and go for a cruise.  Also, I cannot justify paying $100/month for storage.

SELLING TERMS/NOTES:
  • I have many other pictures and will be happy to take any other pics if you would like to see anything more closely.
  • I HAVE DOCUMENTATION FOR ALL REPAIRS AND LABOR noted above.  Please message me if you would like to see it.  Of course...all the documentation will be conveyed to the winning bidder.
  • Please contact me to schedule to see/inspect the car/hear it run/ etc.   Car is located in Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
  • Only serious buyers please.  No joy riders.
  • $200 deposit due(via Paypal) within 48 hours of auction ending.  Balance due within 7 business days(Cash or check only for the balance due - NO paypal accepted for the balance, due to fees).
  • Car will not be released until any check presented is fully cleared.
  • I have clear title in hand.  Will produce for inspection to serious buyers
  • Car is paid off, so the transaction will be very smooth.
  • Buy with CONFIDENCE.  I have 100% feedback on ebay with over 300 transactions.  Car is as described.
  • Feel free to contact me with any questions.  315-749-8585 -Jim.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern

Mon, 07 Nov 2011

General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
