1975 Pontiac Trans Am 1975 Pontiac Trans Am. The mid-year '75 (1 of 857 produced) came exclusively with a 455 HO engine mated to a 4-spd MT and a 3.23 limited slip diff. This car came loaded with a/c, power windows, power door locks, rare rear console, but the trans was converted to AT. Odometer is showing 35K but I cannot verify the mileage. Purchased by previous owner in 1986 from the then-president of Texas Trans Am club of San Antonio. I have another 1975 and decided to keep it so this one is for sale. It would make a great pro-street Trans Am which are selling for big money.
Engine runs and idles great and is a beast, runs very strong. Trans shifts fine, and chassis feels solid. Everything
works except the A/C and washer fluid pump. Fluids recently changed: engine,
trans, brake, differential. Some paint/body/interior work would turn car into a
very nice driver as most of the mechanicals have been sorted out. But full
restoration would be required to return to like new condition. PLEASE
ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH ME SEND YOUR NUMBER AND I WILL CALL YOU ASAP. I WELCOME YOU TO COME LOOK AT THE CAR OR TO HAVE SOMEONE
INSPECT THE CAR PRIOR TO BIDDING. BY BIDDING AND WINNING THE AUCTION,
YOU OWN THE CAR. CAR IS SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED
(THIS SHOULD GO WITHOUT SAYING, THE CAR IS GOING ON 40 YEARS OLD). I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANYTIME. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SHIPPING COST AND ARRANGEMENTS.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
