For Sale is a 1966 Pontiac Le Mans hardtop 326 powerglide automobile.
I've owned this car for six years and have done a fair amount of work to it.
It is a fun car for the right person. Its not a gto or a coupe. It is a daily driver not a show car.
I'll start with what has been done:
The metalwork :the trunk ,floors, and window channels have all been given a once over as seen in some of the photos.
The front windshield has been replaced. The frame is solid
New springs ,shocks on all four corners ,a large diameter sway bar and front disc brakes have been added to the front end.
The rear was replaced with a friendlier 3.08 gear ratio.
The engine is stock except for an HEI ignition.
The interior is original in immaculate shape,no rips or tears although the carpet is showing some wear.
The car comes with original seatbelts I'm not sure if it was an option that year.
I painted the car in base coat /clear coat 2 stage paint, the clear will need to be wet sanded and reshot.
Its good enough for me but it but a new owner may think otherwise. The car is not perfect.
The front seal on the tranny leaks a little until it warms up,the choke on the carb needs to be reset.
I just dont have the time or desire anymore. There are things to be done with this car but there small things.
I have $3500 in materials in this car and have set my reserve accordingly.
Any questions email me with a phone number and I'll call you in regards.
I'm located a half hour north if New York City if you want to view the car

Lutz says GM was working on 5th-gen Pontiac GTO

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Bob Lutz was one of the forces behind bringing the Holden Monaro to the United States, as the ill-fated Pontiac GTO in 2004. And while that car received critical acclaim, it was a sales disappointment. Now, Road & Track is reporting that our suspicions were correct - Pontiac was working on a two-door, G8-based coupe before it was shuttered.
In that R&T article, which is no longer available online, Lutz explained that the new GTO would solve many of the issues found in the original. Car Advice speculates that the new model would have look like a rebadged version of the Holden Coupe 60 Concept from 2008, a conclusion we also came to.
That car would have been a big departure from the 2004 to 2006 GTO. It has an extremely long hood and short rear deck, with an almost fastback roofline and a wide greenhouse with a tall beltline. The wheel arches were very pronounced, and the chin and rocker panel splitters gave it a race-ready look. Would it have been enough to make the GTO work in the US? We think it might of, but it looks like we'll never know.

This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
