2004 Pontiac Gto Pulse Red Ls1 5.7l 6 Speed on 2040-cars
DeKalb, Illinois, United States
For Sale at no reserve, 2004 Pontiac GTO in limited edition Pulse Red with the 5.7L LS1 and 6 Speed manual transmission.
I am the 2nd owner of this vehicle, with low miles at only 77,825. 2004 was the first year for the reintroduction of the GTO. These cars were only produced, in limited numbers until 2006. This car is a great balance of power and maneuverability, resulting in an exciting driving experience. GTO's came with 350 HP from the factory and have aftermarket options available to achieve much more out of the LS1 platform. I live in northern Illinois and now have a work truck and a daily driver. With this, I am limited on space and need to part with my GTO as these are not exceptional in winter weather. The drive-train has been very well maintained is in great working condition. Paint has some flaws that are shown in the pictures. Original owner had a small dent in the hood and did not repair it perfectly. The stripes and scoops were also added by the first owner and are not original. There are some other minor paint scratches and blemishes that I have also tried represent. Besides these issues the car has not been in any accidents. The interior is in good condition for it's age and has never been smoked in. The original stereo has outstanding sound and power with a 6 CD changer. Car comes with all original documentation, including window sticker and a 2004 GTO sales catalog. Car is located in DeKalb, IL and would be available for inspection at my home. Please contact me with any other questions, here or call 815-871-8271. I am listing this car with a starting price well below the book value and am certain it will make a great addition to anyone's collection. I regret parting with this car and hope that you enjoy this great car as much as I have. |

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum
Tue, Aug 27 2019Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles. The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
