1969 Gto California Factory Executive Car, 400, 4 Speed, A/c, Loaded, Survivor on 2040-cars
Milford, Michigan, United States
1969 GTO Survivor California with original "Everything" including drive line (engine, trans, rearend)....( 'Z' in the vin # denotes Freemont CA. factory produced, car stayed in that area it's whole life !) ...Muscle Car Review did a feature article on this car in Spring 04' issue called "Not Trashed, Raced, Or Restored"-see the pics of article. Factory Executive car, loaded with about all options, ***3 way seats, ***power windows, ***hideaway headlights, etc... 400 with 4 speed and ***A/C, a/c with a 4 speed is rare for a GTO !! Car looks restored, but is not !!! Its that nice ! Everything is original on the car including the KEYS, except about 20% of the Limelight paint code 59 H, which looks flawless, professional fix was done misted in lacquer just like the factory paint !! Only the sides of the quarters where bikes and trash cans had rubbed against the paint, and the front edge of the hood, and the elastomer nose were touched up just due to aging...only 20% of the paint got attention. You cannot tell unless pointed out to you. The hood, roof, trunk, fenders, doors, quarter tops are all original paint, only the areas I mentioned were touched up professionally with orig type paint and color to make the car ''show' very well ! Never any rust on this incredible Time capsule, pampered since new in California... The undercarriage of the car has not been touched, the interior is orig untouched, etc... This car has every item it came with including floor mats, and is very HIGHLY documented with all paperwork ever associated with it, order form, window sticker, etc...including a log book of all maint ever done to it !! Tire Inflator can still in trunk with the spare, and the Inflater can hooks up to a factory fitting under the hood ! Very rare...
If you want original cars, that had high options, special pedigrees, lots of orig documentation, and were desirable muscle cars to begin with ***...this is the car !!! |

GM knew about fatal Chevy ignition problem decade before recall
Fri, 21 Feb 2014Well, this is not good for General Motors. Following a report last week that GM was recalling 778,000 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 compacts over concerns that the ignition could switch out of the "run" position without warning, USA Today reports that the Detroit-based behemoth knew about the issue, which affected 2005 to 2007 Cobalts (the Cobalt shown above and in the gallery is from 2010) and 2007 Pontiac G5s, all the way back in 2004.
The information comes from a deposition in a civil lawsuit against GM, obtained by USA Today, which claims that a GM engineer experienced the issue while the then-new model was undergoing testing. The issue was "solved" when a technical service bulletin was issued in 2005, informing dealers to install a snap-on key cover on the cars of customers who complained about the issue. According to the Cobalt's program engineering manager, Gary Altman, the cover was an "improvement, it was not a fix to the issue."
The case where the depositions were made was from 2010, and involved Brooke Melton, a 29-year-old pediatric nurse in Georgia who was killed on her birthday. At the time, police claimed she was going too fast on a wet, rural road, although it later came out through the black box that her car's ignition had come out of the "run" position at least three seconds before the accident (the max amount of time a black box records before a wreck), disabling her airbags, power steering and anti-lock brakes. According to USA Today, police said Melton was "traveling too fast for the roadway conditions," although it's impossible to know if she'd have been in the wreck, which injured the occupants of another vehicle, had her 2005 Chevy not shut off. GM settled the Melton family's case, although the details remain confidential.
Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial
Sat, 16 Mar 2013
The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
