SINCE I'VE HAD IT I HAVE TAKEN OFF THE DUAL CARBS WHICH FLOODED THE CAR. I INSTALLED A NEW DURASHINE MANIFOLD AND EDELBROCK 650 CARB WITH ELECTRIC CHOKE SO I HAD SOLVED THE PROBLEM. I ALSO INSTALLED A NEW ENDURASHINE AIR CLEANER AN NEW MATCHING 502 VALVE COVERS. I STRAIGHTENED OUT THE WIRING. NEXT IT HAD THE WRONG TRANSMISSION IN IT SO I HAD A NEW 700R4 BUILT TO HANDLE THE POWER OF THE 502, IT HAD A OLD SPOOLED REAR END IN IT SO I PUT A NEW 373 POSITRAC IN IT. FINALLY I HAD THE FRONT END ALIGNED. NOW THE CAR IS GREAT. RUNS DOWN THE ROAD FAST AND STRAIGHT. I GET A TON OF COMPLIMENTS ON THE WAY IT LOOKS AND SOUNDS. I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW ALL THIS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SPENDING MORE MONEY. JUST SHOW AND GO. MY LOSS IS YOUR GAIN. Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day
Thu, 07 Jun 2012Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.
Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.

If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
