Up for auction is my wife's 2001 SOM Trans Am WS6. shes had this car 3-4 years she's the 3rd owner. We found this car in Texas it's always been a southern car. It's never been in any snow or salt since we brought it to Illinois it's always stored inside. We have not driven it in any rain but I can't speak for the previous owners. This car is a automatic with black leather seats. Other than the radio which was changed to a aftermarket before we got it and the torque thrust wheels everything is all original. Motor, transmission are all untouched and original. This car is obviously the very rare sunset orange metallic color. This car for the 92,096 miles that are on it is in very good shape. I can't call it perfect because I'm a very particular individual there are a few blemishes on this vehicle, such as a mark on the rear bumper, on the rear passenger fender, one very small spot on the hood and very small spot on the Top by the T-Tops. Since we've had this car it's been just a toy and a weekend driver. I would not be afraid to drive this car anywhere as I was the one who drove it here from Houston Texas. It drives out very good shifts as it should motor sounds great. Service work has all been done by certified mechanics. We had it aligned and suspension checked out and all was in perfect order. The reason for selling is this car just doesn't get driven much and my wife has decided to look for a different toy. We reserve to end this auction at any time. Feel free to ask any questions you have. There is no shipping on this item. Payment for this will be a money order, cashiers check or cash in hand. If a money order or a cashiers check is used since title is in our hand once funds are cleared title will be sent to new owners.

Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes

When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
