1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States
I have a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Formula 305 V8 for sale. Very nice car. Appears to be mostly original except the Hurst Shifter, Front Seats, and Stereo. The stereo was professionally installed as to not disturb the originality of the car. The underbody is in great condition. floors, frame and all suspension parts look very clean. The car looks like it has been maintained in this condition since new. It is in no way perfect, but is a very good solid example of it's era. Great driver condition. I would drive this car anywhere. It is an A/C car, but Air Conditioning does not blow cold, and I have not had it checked. Not sure how many miles is on it since I forgot to look before making this listing. I am not going to list every little detail about the car just to thwart off those who are eager to catch a thief/liar/whatever so they can get some sort of refund or deduction. I will say look at the pictures and decide if this car is something you really want to bid on. You are welcome to come view the car prior to bidding. I am honest in my descriptions and will answer any questions you might have. Just call me at 319-202-8750. I love old cars and enjoy driving them. I'm no where near being a motor head, like I said I am a driver and that is what this Firebird is. It is being sold as is and is also listed locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. $500 Non-Refundable deposit due 24 hours of auctions close, balance due 3 days of auctions close. Buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping arrangements. Will gladly aid shipper in pick up of vehicle. On Apr-22-14 at 19:47:08 PDT, seller added the following information:

2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am
Mon, 13 May 2013No, you didn't read our title wrong. This is a 2013 model year Trans Am, and yes, that is a Pontiac logo affixed to the front of the car. But don't bother dialing up your local General Motors dealership just yet. This is the new Hurst Edition Trans Am created by the Trans Am Depot located in Tallahassee, FL. Having spent a number of years restoring early Trans Am models, the crew at Trans Am Depot finally did what many Pontiac enthusiasts wish GM would have done - create a modern Trans Am using the fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.
As the former owner of a 1977 model, I've been wanting to check out Trans Am Depot ever since I first saw the company have American Choppers build a trio of motorcycles inspired by its Pontiac remakes. So I jumped at the chance to head to Florida's capital city to visit the shop and drive its latest creation, the new Hurst Edition Trans Am. As a collaboration with Hurst, this car made its debut at the 2012 SEMA Show and then popped up again on our radar with a cheesy yet perfectly fitting video back in March.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall
Wed, 13 Mar 2013
The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
