This stunning survivor is sadly/happily being offered for sale while I search for the perfect 350sdl with a rebuilt/factory replaced "rod bender" OM603.97 engine. Sadly, because this car reeks of power and period refinements like no other and I have spent considerable time and money bringing her up to standards that I find realistic for a car of her age. Happily, because she is now well poised for new ownership AND I am getting back to my MB Diesel roots. ALL of my MB's get NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES, GRILL AND LENSES to counteract the effects of road, wind and sunlight. While still in possession of the amber front signal lenses, I replaced them with clear lenses for a cleaner/updated face-lift. I ALSO have clear (pic enclosed) rear tail light lenses that I will enclose (upon request) should you choose to install them, but as somewhat of a purist, the front lenses seemed like enough. EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING in this car has been gone over and where repairs or replacement has been needed, they've been addressed. LET ME BE CLEAR: THIS CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IS ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT but as with every MB that I own, I ALWAYS replace ANYTHING that doesn't age well. Here is a quick review (undoubtedly I'll miss a few). NEW: headlight assembly, wiper blades for the headlights, grille, proper Michelin 205/65r15 tires, repainted rims, Germany sourced new front armrest, window switches (replaced the white dots), rebuilt rear power seat, AND JUST WITHIN THE LAST TWO MONTHS; EHA, valve cover gasket, intake manifold gasket, timing chain checked and new guide rails installed, all 8 plugs, engine mounts, upper control arms, bushings, ALL engine vacuum lines, all struts, full R12 recharge of A/C and blows chilly (brr) AND muffler hangers for A COST OF $2582.78+! I misunderstood (language challenge)what I was being told when the rear struts were installed and unfortunately, gas struts JUST went in, while the self leveling was capped. This really should be done properly and my reserve reflects this. She has (4) door mounted cup-holders, rear footrests, front AND REAR power and heated seats, power everything and although eBay categorizes certain features as "option", everything on this flagship was standard, save for the cup-holders. I replaced the factory floor mats with new ones and replaced the rear lens beneath the door (for ingress/egress illumination) as the rear clip was broken. ALL instrument gauges and powered features function as designed. I have undoubtedly missed a few items, however pls feel free to ask me any questions and I will email you back. She is in Mount Dora, Florida and is being advertised locally so if anyone should drive her (self included), the mileage may be slightly different. I ALSO reserve the right to end this auction early should a buyer come along prior to auction end. IF..IF you have a pristine LOW MILEAGE 1991 350sdl that is interior and body perfect, I can work with an engine that needs attention in case you know of one or are considering a partial trade. The ONLY issue(s) that I am aware of it that there is some clear coat that needs addressing on the sunroof and a small area near the trunk corner.. There is NO RUST, dents or dings, rips in leather (although there is a SLIGHT wear on the lumbar area) or otherwise wear issues that are apparent or haven't been addressed. She's not a new car, blah, blah, blah and she is sold as is, blah, blah, blah and I reserve the right to, blah, blah, blah and ...You get the idea, HOWEVER, should your mechanic (or you) find something of serious concern, I will do what I can to address it. I am NOT INTERESTED in selling "Estelle" (her name) to unload a problematic car and she has been anything but problematic, so I have addressed everything that I would (and have) so that you shouldn't have to. My eBay score is 100% and I'd rather not veer off course! ***FOOTNOTE*** WHEELS were recently done and passenger side of dashboard was remounted correctly after work done and re-aligned! Pics do not reflect this. The pics reflect daily condition as I didn't have the appropriate time to detail her but I.M.O., she's better looking "dirty" than most do "excellent/cherry". Also, there are NO cracks in the dash or wood. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Mercedes-Benz CLA stars in sweeping short with supermodel Karlie Kloss
Wed, 16 Jan 2013The Mercedes-Benz CLA earned itself a spot on our list of the top five unveils of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and for good reason. The German luxury compact is the first small car from the Silver Arrow that looks suitably premium inside and out. Nowness.com has turned out a new video of the CLA featuring super model Karlie Koss in the lead role. We aren't entirely sure what the premise is, but from what we can tell, it looks as if the CLA comes to life and proceeds to be a giant jerk.
After Koss stops to take a closer look at a white horse, the CLA gives the supermodel the old stop-and-go treatment before leaving her on the side of the road. Eventually, the sedan makes nice, but Koss has to ride shotgun instead of taking the controls herself. You can check out the video below to see for yourself.
Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
2014 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Edition 507 still lights our fire
Wed, 06 Mar 2013The current Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG may be in the autumn of its years, but it's still one of our very favorite sport sedans. Ever. Yes, its paddle-shift transmission may not always follow orders, but with stupendous levels of thrust from its charismatic naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, ebullient rear-wheel-drive dynamics and that noise, we frankly don't care that it's getting on a bit.
As a sendoff of sorts for the current generation, Mercedes-Benz has just introduced a new Edition 507 model at the Geneva Motor Show, with 507 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - an increase of 56 horses over the standard car. Mercedes credits the substitution of low-mass internals from the SLS AMG gullwing for the power bump, a tactic shared with the AMG Development Package upgrade that has been subsumed by this Edition 507. 0-60 is quoted at 4.1 seconds and top speed at 174 mph.
The Edition 507 borrows its aluminum hood from the C63 AMG Black Series Coupe, along with spidery new 19-inch wheels in either titanium gray finish or matte black with shiny rim flanges. As seen on our gallery car above, a sports striping package is also featured, as are glossy black grille, daytime running lamps, spoiler and mirror caps.
