Offered for sale is an extraordinary 2005 E55 AMG in superior condition. This is a two-owner vehicle that was purchased by seller as a Mercedes Certified Pre-owned Vehicle. The vehicle has always fanatically been maintained at a licensed Mercedes Benz dealership and all service and maintenance is current. This one needs nothing.
This vehicle benefits from several carefully chosen upgrades added by the current owner. Foremost, the car has huge aftermarket Brembo GT brake kits installed front and rear (over $8,000 new). The discs measure 380mm in front and 345mm in the rear. Both the discs and pads were renewed less than six months ago, followed by a dealership brake bleeding, so the brakes are fantastic and won't need attention for a long time. The car has been freshened with an updated E63 front bumper cover using all factory parts for perfect fitment and appearance (over $3,000 new). The original steering wheel has been replaced by a German MP Designs all-leather thicker semi-DTM style wheel ($800 new). A Renntech electronic lowering module with a remote control allows you to adjust ride height with ease ($1,900 new; these sell for less now). The stock 18" diameter wheels were replaced by genuine Mercedes AMG 19" wheels in order to clear the massive Brembo GT calipers in front. The wheels are dressed with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires with even wear and excellent tread remaining. An oversize heat exchanger is installed to provide extra cooling for the supercharged engine. The engine itself is totally stock and unmolested. A Mercedes factory iPod integration kit was installed by the Mercedes dealership.
The car has bi-xenon headlights, active curve illumination, and factory navigation. The car also has the factory CD changer and will be delivered complete with both keys and a complete set of original factory books and manuals. Simply stated, this is a car that was dearly loved, meticulously maintained, and now ready for a new owner to enjoy. Vehicle is being sold as-is and without any warranty whatsoever, express or implied. I'm happy to respond to questions from interested parties. Purchaser is responsible for arranging transportation for or picking up vehicle locally.

Missouri Mercedes dealer offering free Smart with every SLS AMG purchase
Wed, 05 Dec 2012The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is an exquisite sports car that probably needs no help flying off dealer lots, even with a starting price of almost $200,000, but Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City has come up with an interesting incentive to sweeten the deal. For buyers who purchase a new SLS AMG from dealer stock before the end of the year, the dealership is throwing in a new Smart Fortwo from its inventory at no charge... with a required coupon no less.
In addition to being a great tactic to get a little free press, the spare car also makes sense as an alternative to the SLS, which measures more than 15-feet long - almost twice the length of a Fortwo - and has a 563-horsepower engine that sucks down gas at the rate of 13 miles per gallon in city driving (and even that's provided you don't give in to the devil on your shoulder). Plus, at the end of the day, this really isn't that big of an incentive. Being given a slow-selling $12,490 car for the purchase of a model starting at $199,500 represents about a six percent incentive, which is along the lines of a $1,900 rebate for a $30,000 car.
To get the free Smart, just visit the Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Facebook page, redeem the coupon and then go buy yourself a new SLS AMG. Congratulations!
Highlights from the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the McLaren P1 and a Ford Transit running the hill
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The sole purpose of this post is as a time-waster, and since you shouldn't have to work to waste time, we've done it for you. In the numerous videos below you'll find cars that have lately been in the news tramping all over the grounds of Lord March's estate in Goodwood, England.
There's the McLaren P1 heading up the hill, the Jaguar Project 7, then a casually-driven Porsche 917 followed by an even-more-casually-driven Porsche 956, topped off by a Porsche 936 that is anything but casually driven. The next round is the flame-spitting Peugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak from Climb Dance, a camera mounted on the Peugeot RCZ R after it showing you what the whole, uninterrupted run up the hill looks like. For a real head-turner, we couldn't embed it but there's Andy Reid blasting up the hill in a Ford Transit Supervan with a Cosworth 3000 V6 engine.
The modern racing contingent has Allan McNish doing the hill in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro he used to win Le Mans and Lewis Hamilton making lots of tire smoke in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas MGP-W02. For comparison, that's followed by Nick Heidfeld's record-setting run up the hill in 1999 in the McLaren MP4/14 . The classic racing contingent is headlined by 71-year-old Giacomo Agostini on an MV Agusta.
Mercedes dealers authorized to spend $2,500 on perks for S-Class customers
Mon, 02 Dec 2013If you drop $100,000 on a luxury sedan, it seems only reasonable to receive some preferential treatment at the dealership you purchased from. After all, that price isn't just for the car - you're paying for the brand and all the cachet that entails. For Mercedes-Benz, those benefits have apparently been lacking relative to the German brand's luxury competitors.
That's set to change, though, as Automotive News reports that the German brand is placing a much greater emphasis on keeping its customers happy and loyal with its MB Select program. Starting with the new S-Class and spreading to the CLA-Class (and eventually beyond), dealers are being given money - up to $2,500 in the case of the flagship sedan - just to improve the customer experience.
We agree, improving the "customer experience" is quite a vague term, so it's nice that Mercedes USA's CEO, Steve Cannon, offered up some examples to AN at the LA Auto Show. For example, a customer couldn't fit his sunglasses into the overhead compartment. "So we bought him a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses that fit because of their shape," Cannon said.
