CAR FAX AVAILABLE!! Up front and honest.. The bad? Has very minor, non noticeable light cat like scratches near rear window on drivers side, main one on the trunk but touched up. Car still runs but will stall after warming up, then start again as if nothings wrong after it cools off. I looked the problem up on Mercedes Benz forum and now most likely needs a crankshaft sensor which is an extremely minor repair, and a very common problem with the CLS class. Also has a barely noticeable "U" shaped like thin crack in the windshield (NO LEAKS) from a pebble on the highway. If you replace the censor yourself? The part is between $40-$80 and takes about 20 minutes to fix. Mechanic will probably charge around $350 or less (depending on where you go) to replace and this CLS will be mechanically flawless after that. The GOOD? This car is faster and than a hookers heart. No accidents and never seen snow.. Rarely driven and garage kept. Car isn't even broken in yet and is still practically brand new. This car has been routinely detailed, polished, and vacuumed at least once every other week, and still has a mirror like paint finish, which I've never really seen before. Originally had 38k miles on it when I bought it, and now has only 53,173 original miles. I am the fourth owner with car mainly being in Hawaii from previous owner which is why there is no rust and still has an amazing like new finish. No flaws, tears, or imperfections in interior and not smoked in. Also, as I mentioned, one of the previous owners lived in Hawaii, so this CLS 500 DOES NOT have heated seats, and does not have a sun shade over rear window. Is equipped for navigation but didn't use it, so it needs the disc. I'm moving to the country and just simply cannot use it there on dirt and gravel roads.  People often ask is it a "Baby Maybach".. You will get tired of the compliments as you drive this beautiful piece of rolling art work.

Mercedes has already booked 30k orders for new S-Class

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

When Toyota snags 30,000 Corolla orders over a three-month span, it's entirely possible we're in the midst of a global economic collapse and that the end is nigh. That's because the scale for Toyota is so very large. Mercedes-Benz, on the other hand, operates on a much smaller scale, particularly when we talk about its higher-end models, like the S-Class.
In 2012, Mercedes sold 65,000 of its flagship sedans in Germany and the EU. That's 178 units per day, for 365 days. Based on that, you can imagine the excitement at Stuttgart when it accepted 30,000 orders for the new S-Class in just three months. That's an average of 333 per day on a continent with a notoriously shaky economy. Now, admittedly, this enthusiasm could wane as the refitted S-Class becomes more common and Mercedes achieves market saturation in Europe's many chauffeur and livery services, but Mercedes isn't choosing to look at it that way.
"The new S-Class has already jumped back into the lead in terms of new vehicle registrations in Germany and its neighboring European countries," Mercedes-Benz head of sales and marketing, Ola Kaellenius, said in a statement last week.

AMG-powered Aston Martins still years away

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

After flirting for several years, Mercedes-Benz and Aston Martin have finally tied the knot. Just don't expect to see any offspring to result from the union for at least three or four years.
This according to Auto Express, which spoke with Daimler chief Dr. Dieter Zetsche at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. AE reports that a new range of AMG-developed turbocharged V8s, transmissions and electrical components will make their way into the successors to the current V8 Vantage and DB9, but that these models are still a few years off.
Purists might balk at the thought of a Mercedes-powered Aston holding true to the brand's heritage. But while David Brown (for whom the DB range is named) may have steered clear of shoehorning in Detroit muscle into his cars, the entirety of the company's current range is powered by engines borrowing technology from Ford, and that arrangement seems to have worked well for Aston until now. And if you're still skeptical, look no further than Pagani and its AMG-sourced engines and you should have all the proof you need that the new relationship between Daimler and Aston could be a success.

Mercedes S-Class Magic Body Control ad is clucking awesome

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

This is a new ad from Mercedes-Benz. At no point does it show an automobile. Instead, it stars animals, but not the sort you might normally see in car commercial. This ad is all about chickens. It is bizarre, to say the least, with Diana Ross and the Supremes belting it out in the background, but it all kind of comes together when you realize just what Mercedes is hawking (yeah, pun intended).
It's for the manufacturer's Magic Body Control, found on the new S-Class. The system basically analyzes the road and prepares the suspension accordingly, leading to a ride that is, in the words of our own Chris Paukert "nothing short of spooky." You can read about it in our full review of the 2014 S550. Take a look below for the 53-second spot.
