2002 Mercedes CONV,CLK 430 .. Dealer installed AMG package, This has been my daily driver for last 4 years. runs drives great. Cold a/c , great heat. 173,000 and many more to go. Pa. inspection 12/2014. convertible top goes up and down very easy by manual , however power top switch fails work, one of the sensors is bad. I went thro a burger king drive thro and scraped/lite dent passenger side, in front of rear wheel area, slight mark on door, pictured in my photos. driver seat has small tear, were threads or torn,easy fix.. one of the fog lights works some times, and some time it does not. driver front tire has small bump, and should be replaced. I had both front wheel bearings replaced. Because of these few things the reserve is low, so if you want a great reliable car here it is. put the top down and enjoy the summer. ..This a CLK 430...amg package was added by dealer. car being sold as it... any questions call BILL 1-717-617-2444 car is located just south of Lancaster Pa. Next Mercedes-Benz GLK to get AMG variant? Not likely...
Fri, 15 Mar 2013If you think Mercedes-Benz will slap an AMG badge on anything with wheels, think again. Word has it the German manufacturer will not offer buyers a performance version of the GLK, with Tobias Moers, director of AMG vehicle development, saying that he doesn't see a market for the car. That's not to say the picture won't change in the near future, however. According to CarAdvice.com, AMG is keeping a close eye on the arrival of the Porsche Macan.
"Maybe there will be a change in the market when the Porsche [Macan] comes up," Moers said, "but right now, no."
The real hitch in the giddy-up seems to be cost. Moers says developing the machine into something worthy of an AMG would represent "a huge investment." We can't exactly argue with that. Fortunately, AMG buyers have plenty of Mercedes-Benz models to choose from.
Carlsson turns Mercedes-Benz SLK into 610-HP hill-climb clawer
Mon, 28 Jan 2013Carlsson's race-tuned versions of the Mercedes-Benz SLK have been taking checkered flags for years, and we won't be surprised if its SLK 340 hill climber fares any different. Developed by multiple German and Swiss hill climb champion Reto Meisel, the carbon-bodied SLK 340 with lightweight brakes and a closed underbody weighs 1,716 pounds. Propelling that tiny bit of weight is a 3.4-liter V8 from Judd with 610 horsepower, and it rolls on 18-inch wheels shod in Avon tires.
It will debut at the Geneva Motor Show before beginning its racing campaigns in the summer. This one won't just tear up roads in Europe, though - Meisel says he plans on bringing it to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The press release below has more details.
World Car Of The Year down to its final four

Judges for the World Car of the Year Award have narrowed down the finalists to just four vehicles. Out of a total of 42 entries, only the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Porsche Boxster/Cayman, Scion FR-S/Subaru BRZ/Toyota GT-86 and Volkswagen Golf remain standing. For Volkswagen, this marks the second consecutive year the company has had an entry among the finalists, and the fourth time since 2009. In order to qualify, a vehicle must be on sale on two continents during the span of time between January 1, 2013 and May 30, 2013. A panel of 66 journalists from 23 countries then vote on the finalists.
Three vehicles have made the cut for the last round of voting on the 2013 World Performance Car as well, with the Cayman/Boxster and FR-S/BRZ/GT-86 running against the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. Meanwhile, the Renault Zoe, Tesla Model S and Volvo V60 Plug-In Hybrid are duking it out for the World Green Car Award. Finally, the World Car Design of the Year Award is up for grabs between the Aston Martin Vanquish, Jaguar F-Type, and the Mazda6. Check out the full press release below.
