1983 Mercedes 300SD turbo-diesel. Over 30 mpg, drives great, runs great.
This car will last a lifetime if taken care of. Has 280k miles, which
is nothing for a diesel. Has 17in newer E-500 wheels and tires, needs a
few things here and there.....paint job, windshield has small crack
(most insurance will cover without deductible) a/c has leak but has been
converted and blows cold without leak in hose. All fluids and filters
just changed, starts right up with no issues even in cold weather. Transmission takes a fraction of a second when up-shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear but has been like that for years with no issues. Mercedes said it needs a new solenoid to solve the slow shift (if interested in fixing). Does not leak oil, or any
fluids. Has a few rust spots but nothing major at all, VERY light given
it is a classic car. Interior is mint for the most part, needs the wood-trim reinstalled in an area- but has no cracks, scuffs, or
tears on the seats. New radio receiver deck, play CD's, use your flash
drive or usb, etc. Parts for this car usually cost less for this Mercedes than for most domestic vehicles. More pictures upon request, buyer responsible for pickup and delivery.

Mercedes FWD platform to last until 2018, convertible and two-seater future uncertain
Mon, 22 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz seems to be expecting a lot of success from its front-wheel-drive CLA-Class. Automotive News is reporting that the sub-C-Class sedan could grow when its second generation arrives in 2018.
The current FWD platform for MB underpins the CLA, the B-Class, the GLA-Class, and the A-Class. The B-Class will arrive in North America as an EV for spring of 2014, while the production GLA crossover will arrive three to four months after that. The five-door A-Class won't be crossing The Pond. Sad faces all around.
According to AN, another model will be based on the front-drive architecture, but it won't be coming to the US market. Set to arrive next year, rumors are that it'll be a wagon version of the CLA, sort of like the ill-named five-door CLS Shooting Brake that is also a Europe-only item.
2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupe

Mercedes-Benz upgraded its SLS flagship Coupe and Roadster for the 2013 model year, and the changes are marked with them new "GT" nomenclature. Both SLS models arrive with a retuned naturally aspired 6.2-liter V8 delivering 583 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque (the horses are up from 563, but the torque remains the same) mated to a revised seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox. Rounding out the mechanical upgrades is a redeveloped AMG two-mode adaptive suspension. Physically, the revised models are differentiated by their new "GT" badging, darkened headlight/taillight buckets, red brake calipers, unique wheel colors and high gloss finish on the front grille, exterior mirrors and hood/fender fins. Inside the cabin are new red seatbelts, Alcantara upholstery and contrasting red stitching.
As it is nearly impossible to experience the aluminum gullwing beast on public roads, Mercedes invited out to Southern California's Willow Springs to wring out the 2013 SLS GT Coupe on a racing circuit.
UK workers strand car on island of asphalt to keep working
Wed, 06 Feb 2013Generally speaking, when you illegally park your car, you're likely to get ticketed and towed, but there is probably at least one motorist in Scotland who wishes that was the case. After workers had blocked off a portion of the parking lot for the Edinburgh Waverley railway station, the driver of this Mercedes-Benz S-Class reportedly moved some of the barriers to park in one of the empty spots.
Rather than having the vehicle towed, the work crew simply tore up the asphalt around the leaving just the one parking spot intact, and as you can see in the image above (posted to the Twitter account of Harold Norstad), the crew even built a small asphalt ramp so the car could get off its blacktop pedestal. Since this happened last week, there's no word as to whether the car was eventually moved or towed for the resurfacing work to continue.
