About The Car 

This wonderful example of one of the best cars ever made has spent it’s entire life in California after being born 01/83 in Sindelfingen Germany. A garaged California car with original paint and no signs of rust problems on the body or chasis. Dealer Serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Oakland, California with records. Clean and clear California title with current registration. Clean CarFax report. Automatic transmission has been overhauled 2 years ago. Full power interior (windows/sunroof) which is uncommon on the 240 series. New p185/70r14 Tires on restored factory 14x6 light alloy wheels. Just serviced and ready to be driven anywhere.

Engine and Drivetrain.

With only 189k miles, the Legendary 2.4 litre Diesel om616 Engine starts effortlessly, hot or cold and reflects years of proper maintenance . The spotless engine bay is complimented by a polished valve cover and air filter housing. No excessive smoke at start-up, blow-by or oil leaks. This car has never been run on Veggie Oil, NEVER! Heater/Defrost functions work perfectly. A/C system has been converted to r134a, but previous owner had the belt removed in the interest of fuel economy as he never used the A/C system in the San Francisco bay area. System is fully charged with freon. Good exhaust system with no leaks. Healthy coolant system, car runs at proper operating temp always. Strong 1000cca battery tests @ 100%. We have just performed a major service (less than 100 miles) including;

 Valve adjustment with new gasket.

  Lubro Moly Diesel purge.

  New BOSCH fuel filters x2. 

  New fuel lines. 

  Oil change (Mobil Delvac 15w40)

  Oil Filter and Air Filter. 

  Transmission service with new filter and gasket. 

  Radiator coolant flush and new antifreeze.

.*All hinges, linkages and latches have been lubricated including the sunroof and original Hirschmann power antenna. The engine runs smooth and strong. Automatic transmission has had a major overhaul 2 years ago and shifts crisply and on time. New p185/70r14 Tires on restored factory 14x6 alloy wheels. Ready to go.

Interior 

At some point the windows were given a dark tint which has preserved the beautiful blue interior and kept the tones true and correct. Original deep Blue MB Tex (Mercedes-Benz Texturized Punctured Vinyl) interior is in excellent condition, showing only minimal signs of use over the last 3 decades. Drivers seat is solid,  supportive and free of any broken springs. Because this car was fortunate enough to be owned by non-smoking owners, the interior smells fresh and clean. The upholstery is soft, supple and has been conditioned.  Carpet is in excellent with no rips or cigarette burns. There is a hard plastic dash "topper" which was installed years ago by a previous owner.  Perfect Door panels x4. Vacuum operated door locks function properly, even after sitting for days. Stock Becker Europa stereo works great. All gauges, clock, switches work as normal. Excellent headliner free of tears or stains. 1st aid kit is intact and cover is free of cracks or fade. Wood trim is in very good condition with only a few small imperfections. 

Body

The original Labrador Blue Glasurit enamel paint (MB Code 312) shines beautifully and has always been properly cleaned and waxed. The body is straight and has zero rust issues. No records of accidents or panel replacement.  The front drivers fender had a long scratch (approx 25") at some point, but has been corrected with factory touch-up paint and is not noticeable unless you look closely. All chrome and aluminum trim is present and in fine condition. Rubber trim and door seals are all in good order. No excessive wind noise on the freeway and no leaks in the rain. Optional trunk mounted safety triangle and rubber trunk mat.

We can assist in finding a shipper both domestically and internationally and will be happy to facilitate the loading of the vehicle. Due to work scheduling, we ask that all pickups will be given a 48 hour notice. We will only be available during normal business hours unless special arrangements are made prior.
