For Sale is my 72 280 SE 4.5.I bought the car almost three years ago.Here is a list of work performedSold as is:Engine has been rebuilt from the cylinders up,including new heads,valves,oil pump,

fuel pump,water pump,hoses,thermostat,Battery,all belts,hood insulator pad,hood release cable,fuel filter,sunrrof seal,becker am/fm/cassette radio,power antenna,front and rear shocks,

new carpet,floor mats,headliner ,transmission cooler hoses,timing chains,fuel injectors replaced with new ones,alternator,Grill,windshield and bumper over riders and more.All this work is

documented by a certified M/B mechanic here in Scottsdale,and you are welcome to talk to him.The a/c blows cold.The transmission is fine.The parking gear sometimes slips.The drivers power window

regulator gear just started to slip and needs to be fixed.Small rust hole in drivers side trunk well as shown in the pics.Paint job is ok,but is a respray.Speedo is working and is a replacement,I cannot

verify actual mileage,however since the engine rebuild,I have maybe put ten tanks of gas in the car .The car does not leak,or consume oil.The radiator has been recored.Sold as is no warranty.

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal

Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.

Gullwing America turns SLS AMG Roadster into stunning 1955 300 SC redux

Gullwing America specializes in what it calls "retro styling meets modern technology." It's next demonstration of that is the convertible above, a stylized recreation of the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SC (inset) supported by the structure of a 2012 SLS AMG Roadster. Commissioned by a client in Eastern Europe, the resulting car is called the 300 SLC.
The hand-formed aluminum bodywork required just a few changes to the SLS AMG Roadster, namely reworking the headlights into a stacked arrangement of LEDs and relocating the pop-up spoiler behind the cabin. The retro grille and long, straight hood evoke the past, the custom exhaust, height-adjustable suspension, 21-inch wheels up front and 22-inch wheels in back, however, stray a little further from history. The 300 SLC will come with a hardtop and be one-of-a-kind, making it even rarer than its inspiration, of which 92 were made.
