2002 Maserati Coupe Gt, 6 Speed, 32k, Super Clean, All Tools And Records on 2040-cars
Year:2002
Mileage:32800
Color:
and Crema interior
Location:
Belmont, California, United States
2002 Maserati Coupe
GT.
Description:
- ·
Rosso Bologna (Burgundy
metallic) exterior and Crema interior (tan and black). Tan carpets with black
edging. Very elegant. People still think it is a brand new car and worth 6
figures.
- ·
4.2 Litre V8, ABS,
Traction control, and all the safety features including airbags. 180 mph top
speed, with a 0-60 in the mid to high 4 second range. Lots of usable torque
with the 400hp Ferrari-derived engine.
- ·
6 speed car (Cambiocorsa
cars are very finicky wrt electronics and hydraulics, and clutch life is much
shorter than the 3 pedal car). If you are not convinced that you want the 6
speed call the dealer to price some of the parts for the paddle shift box)
- ·
Skyhook, nicer wheels,
cruise, CD Changer, red calipers, power folding mirrors, parking sensors,
navigation, Xenon lights, A/C. Does not have the Auditorium audio and leather
headliner, but seems to have all the other options.
- ·
32,865 miles and
counting (short commute, so this will not increase drastically)
- ·
Garaged at home and at
work.
- ·
Serviced at Ferrari
Maserati of Silicon Valley, Ferrari of San Francisco (factory dealers) during
warranty period and also at Dino Motors in San Mateo, CA (Factory-trained
mechanic focusing on exotics). I have records.
- ·
Very clean interior and
exterior, freshly detailed
- ·
No accidents, body work,
or race track use.
- ·
I have the clear title
in my name, no liens, no drama.
- ·
Non-smoker car, owned by
mature car nut, driven on a regular basis, so no issues with seals / prolonged
storage.
- ·
Owned since 2004 and
3500 miles, so almost one owner. I bought the car from Ferrari of
Houston.
- ·
Fresh front and rear
tires (Michelins). They have less than ~5K miles on them (front and
rear).
- ·
Very clean outside and
inside. Owned by an enthusiast with other exotics and classics.
- ·
VIN is ZAMBC38A020006538
- ·
For California, I will
smog the car and the registration is paid through November of 2014.
- ·
Tools, books, 3 keys
(incl service key), radio code, even the full line Maserati brochure are all
included.
- ·
Newish radiator, new
light control module, recent A/C service, new battery, new window
regulator/lock, regular fluid changes and maintenance.
This is a fast and sexy
exotic for Toyota money. Original MSRP was ~ $100K. You get a 400hp exotic that
is actually reliable and usable in the real world and you can take friends and
kids in the back, or golf clubs in the trunk. The color combo is awesome in
person.
Some minor issues and
modifications to note:
- ·
The rear mufflers have
been removed and replaced with a tip only. This gives the car a sound that is
actually nicer than some aftermarket exhausts, tubi included. The buyer gets
the old mufflers and they can be welded back in by any muffler shop. The cats
and everything else is still in place, so this does not affect smog readings.
The car always passes without any issues in California.
- ·
The 2002s did not have
the trident badges on the fuel filler flap and the V8 badges on the front
flanks. I have added both of those to mimic how the 2005s look.
- ·
Aftermarket floor mat is
a little spent on the driver's side. Factory floor mats are fine.
- ·
Some of the stickyness
is there on the buttons/controls. It is actually not bad, and I have started
cleaning and replacing it. The ashtray lid is new and the radio controls are
fine. The worst part is the area around the power mirror controls. This is
easily fixed if you are perfectionist by contacting stickynomore.com, or
cleaning the controls with a solvent yourself.
- ·
The leather on the
shifter knob wore off due to my wedding ring. I have taken it off and polished
it. It looks great, IMO, but it is not stock.
Disclaimers
- ·
Not interested in
trades.
- ·
This is not a factory
fresh car. Do not expect it to be perfect in every respect. I did not price it
like a museum piece.
- ·
Not interested in
brokers or consignments
- ·
Pre-purchase inspections
are welcome, but I take it to the mechanic of your choice within 20 miles of
94065, and the buyer pays for inspection (Plenty of choices to suggest)
- ·
Will not respond to low
ball offers (this is not a desperation sale) or people who are currently
"out of the country" and ask for a wire transfer from me.
- ·
Happy to sell it out of
state, but the wire/cashiers check needs to clear before I release it to the
shipper you organize (no escrows).
- ·
Buyer pays shipping and
taxes on their end.
- ·
Sold AS IS, where is,
with no warranties implied.
- Located between San
Francisco and San Jose, close to SFO airport in Northern California.
- I am selling selling
because the children grew legs and I am moving up to a newer 2011 Quattroporte.
I will respond to inquiries promptly, but please read the entire
ad. Private Party sale.
NADA says retail prices
for 2002s are to be in the $22K to $34K spectrum. Mine is in excellent
condition, with all tools and reconds, and with the rare 6 speed, yet
priced below the mid range for a quick sale. I will not dislose the exact reserve.

We enjoy it when Jay Leno and his web show, Jay Leno's Garage, take a look at new, modern cars. When the comedian gets his paws on a proper classic, though, he's at his best. Leno is able to display an impressive breadth of knowledge about even obscure models, and that's no different here, as the winner of its class at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a 1956 Maserati A6G-2000 Allemano rolls into the garage.
Part of the Maserati A6 family, this A6G is one of just 21 cars produced with coachwork by Carrozzeria Allemano, making it one of the rarer cars to grace Jay Leno's Garage. It's powered by a 2.0-liter inline-six, and, as Leno points out, is far more of a road car than the race-oriented Maseratis of the day.
Scroll down for the latest episode from Jay Leno's Garage on this fully restored 1956 Maserati.

Subcompact sales slump, yet again
Tue, 06 Nov 2012
In case you missed it, Maserati has decided to introduce the world to its next Quattroporte well ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January. As expected, it's beautiful.
Not content to leave well enough alone, the Italian automaker has revealed a series of videos to go along with the six images and press release it had already let loose upon the globe's unsuspecting automotive press.
We're still a bit shaky on the details, but Maserati says the Quattroporte's new engine, assembled by Ferrari in Maranello, will "[establish] new benchmarks for Maserati in terms of power and acceleration." That sounds good to us, though we're not sure if that means 530 horsepower as possibly alluded to by the license plate on the press shots. We also note that the automaker says the car is designed to accept "a wide range of engine architectures," so that rumored supercharged V6 sounds likely.
