Detail Photos

PHOTO 1 :  It really DOES look new!  No one ever thinks it's a 2011.  Lustrous Mediterranean Blue/Green Metallic with polished OEM factory alloy rims riding on Michelin tires in superb condition (detail pics below)

PHOTO 2:  Luxury!  Note the pristine condition of the driver's seat charcoal leather and the gleaming gloss of the REAL walnut trim adorning the doors & dash!  OEM mats have NEVER been used since we've always had overlays on them AND the cars' interior carpet.  We've been fanatical in our upkeep and it shows.

PHOTO 3:  Command Center for the driver & front passenger!  Everything is intuitively within reach!  OEM Lincoln Nav/GPS/Satellite radio along with electronic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats with redundant controls for many functions on the steering wheel too!

PHOTO 4:  Passenger side view showing the MKXs sensible size and very modern profile with minimal overhang

PHOTO 5:  Could it be ANY cleaner?  Lovely charcoal leather passenger seat within easy reach of nearly every control on the center stack.  Also note the stitched, soft touch materials on the dash, doors and console.  Like-new black carpet throughout and new black fitted carpeted mats.

PHOTO 6: Straight on rear-view!  Mint OEM exhaust tips, integrated bumper reflectors, rear-sensing system, back-up camera under rear Lincoln logo as well as the AWD logo.  Yes, this car has full-time AWD which is a helpful safety feature, even in the rain!

PHOTO 7:  From the front - bold Lincoln waterfall grille proudly carries on the Lincoln design language as do the fog lamps

PHOTO 8:  Interior view of the HUGE electric Panoramic Glass Sunroof with Power Sunshade in the open position

PHOTO 9:  Close-Up view of the driver's side from bumper/grille etc.

PHOTO 10:  View from driver's seat to passenger.  Again, note the high-level of craftsmanship with soft touch materials and genuine stitching on nearly every surface within reach

PHOTO 11:  Nearly full-open view!  Easy access for people, cargo etc...

PHOTO 12:  Driver's side front 3/4 view - NO dent's or scratches, just beautiful in every way!

PHOTO 13:  Screen view of the Sirius Satellite interface screen!

PHOTO 14:  Car has the optional and powerful THX Certified Sound System which quality sound for the entire interior!

PHOTO 15:  Console-mounted inputs for USB, SD card and audio cables...

PHOTO 16:  Climate control screen - modulate cabin AC/Heat as well as Heated Steering Wheel and Cooled and Heated Seats

PHOTO 22:  Rear cargo area showing the buttons for power controls for left/right rear seat fold down as well as the power-actuated liftgate

PHOTO 23:  Cargo area with the rear-seats in upright position!  Note the black rug, it's always been used to protect the factory carpet and tailgate liftover - everything is immaculate as you'd expect

PHOTO 24:  Spacious rear view of the cargo area with the seatbacks folded flat

PHOTO 25:  Could this be any more inviting?  Carpet, Leather, Wood, Steering Wheel all look gorgeous!

PHOTO 26:  Driver's door controls - windows, mirrors, door locks

PHOTO 45:  Passenger's side as clean as the other!

PHOTO 46:  Overhead, exterior view of the glass panorama roof

PHOTO 47:  The ONLY flaw we could find worth noting!  On the passenger's side in front of the front-tire you'll see a light scuff as shown above. This flaw is about 6 inches in height and very, very light on a plastic panel.  It shows very well in this photo but is much less noticeable in person as it is fairly low on the car's bodywork

PHOTO 48:  Matched Michelin OEM tires in great shape!

PHOTO 49:  Driver's side front tire relative to a US Quarter - all tires have about the same and even wear

 PHOTO 50:  Doorjamb VIN Tag

2013 Lincoln MKZ [w/video]

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

Rebranding When Reinvention Is Requisite
Lincoln - pardon us, the Lincoln Motor Company - assures us that Ford is committed to its success. The awkwardness of the statement (which feels vaguely like your mother telling you that she loves and supports you regardless of what everyone else thinks) was hard to escape when we recently spent a few days with the all-new second-generation 2013 Lincoln MKZ.
Launched earlier this year at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the MKZ is a midsize premium sedan that shares platforms with the Ford Fusion (also all-new for 2013). The sedan's primary competitors, according to Lincoln, include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS and Lexus ES Series sedans - each an established, accomplished player.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.
