***no Reserve**** 2004 Land Rover Discovery Se Sport Utility 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Winchester, Virginia, United States
This vehicle is a fine example of the practical, good looking Land Rover Discovery II. Land Rover has a reputation for having the most advanced 4x4 systems. Land Rover also has a reputation for building some of the safest and most reliable vehicles on the road and this one is no exception. Land Rover vehicles are known worldwide for their off road capability and everybody knows that their vehicles are one of the best on and off road. If you are going to buy a used vehicle, why not buy a name you can trust? This Land Rover SE7 has low milage and if serviced as it should be, could be driven another 100,000 miles. The interior is in clean, well taken care of, and gently used. The headliner is clean, all four tires have about 6/32 tread left(more than half). Please take a look at the photos and you will see how this car was taken care of. Mechanically, its a very good car; Engine, transmission, differential, brakes, all function well. No overheating problems! Transmission and differential function properly. New valve cover gaskets were installed recently. The only annoying thing about the Discovery is that when the engine gets to the normal operating temperature, the valves start to tap. The engine will not break because of this issue, a higher grade oil will help with this noise. The car is in great shape and it shows in the pictures attached. Two sunroofs Heated leather seats Fully power adjustable driver & passenger seats The 4-Wheel drive system is spot on, personally used.
Autocheck shows a nice report and high score. I do assist my customers in shipping with the vehicle. Car is shown/sold by appointments only. Please do not hesitate to ask any question. Jaguar-Land Rover builds millionth vehicle at Halewood
Fri, 29 Nov 2013Jaguar-Land Rover is not what you'd call a volume automaker by any stretch of the imagination. But in the dozen years since it started manufacturing at its Halewood plant near Liverpool, England, the automaker has already built its millionth vehicle.
The landmark vehicle is a Range Rover Evoque, done up in white with red roof and mirrors, black wheels and a red and black interior. The crossover is set to be donated to Cancer Research UK, which will auction it off next year to help fund its projects in the north-west of the country.
Halewood started manufacturing the Jaguar X-Type in 2001, then went on to assemble the Land Rover LR2 / Freelander 2 before taking on production of the Evoque a year and a half ago. The facility reached the 300,000-unit milestone just last year as production moved to a 24-hour cycle for the first time in either marque's history.
Jaguar Land Rover building new R&D center for hybrids, EVs, autonomous cars
Wed, 25 Sep 2013The success of Jaguar Land Rover in recent years has largely been down to a resurgent product lineup, but a recent move into the research and development will see the British-based, Indian-owned brands take the fight to its German rivals more aggressively than ever before.
JLR is investing 50 million pounds ($80,345,000, as of this writing) in a joint R&D center in central England. The move will more than triple its staff dedicated to research, from 150 to 500, with Wolfgang Epple, JLR's Director of Research and Technology telling Automotive News Europe, "In order to play among the big animals in automotive and to be anchored in the mind of customers you have to have offered something unique, to be first in market. We want to be one of the key premier automotive manufacturers."
Jaguar Land Rover's 50-million-pound contribution represents more than half of the 94-million-pound tab, on the so-called National Automotive Innovation Campus. Based at Warwick University, Tata's European Technical Center, Warwick Manufacturing Group and the Higher Education Funding Council, an agency of the British government, are all chipping in for the facility.
Jaguar Land Rover puts the freeze on wounded soldier-athletes [w/video]
Mon, 21 Jul 2014For athletes, the cold is often a powerful ally in treating injures, with RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) a popular means of treating muscle pulls, bruising and other common forms of discomfort. Did you know, though, that frosty temps are also popular tools for simply recovering from a rough training session?
Well, we're guessing Jaguar Land Rover knew that, as the British company was kind enough to loan out its climactic testing chamber to Jaco van Gass and Luke Darlington, a pair of veterans wounded in their service to Queen and Country. Van Gass, a former private in the Royal Army, and Darlington, a Royal Marine, are attempting to earn a spot on the British Armed Forces cycling team for the upcoming Invictus Games.
The Games, inspired by the Warrior Games held in the United States, are a sporting competition reserved for injured servicemen and women, either active duty or veterans, and is slated to take place from September 10 to 14 in London's former Olympic venues. Van Gass lost his left arm below the elbow after getting hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (he also suffered from a collapsed lung, punctured internal organs, severe shrapnel and blast wounds, a broken tibia and a fractured knee). Darlington, meanwhile, suffered a traumatic brain injury during action in Afghanistan, and he now suffers from weakness in his right side and cognitive issues.
