1980 Jeep Wagoneer Base Sport Utility 4-door 5.9l on 2040-cars

1980 Jeep Wagoneer. 3rd owner. Purchased in December '13 from Montana as a project. Runs and drives fine. Brakes work. All power options. Burgundy Vinyl interior. Was originally White w/woodgrain but was painted by previous owner. AMC 360 runs great, needs choke adjusted. 727 3 speed automatic trans. NP208 transfer case(part-time) trans shifts like its supposed to, and the 4wd works great. Dana 44 front, AMC20 rear(not sure of the gearing). Has dealer installed travel tank(secondary fuel tank). General tires with lots of tread. Had 48700 miles when I got it shipped here, but the speedo cable was not hooked up. Replaced it and its at 49000 miles now but the last time I was home it stopped working(I think the cable may have frayed from the angle through the firewall, but it did work). Body has maybe 2 or 3 very small spots with surface rust, but no rust through. A couple dings here and there. Frame is nice, and so are the edges all around underneath(Flares, body edges, etc.).Trim is all there and most chrome is good, maybe a few spots here and there that aren't great(it is a 34 year old truck, but I have extra parts available for most of the bad stuff(roof rack slats, tail light, bumpers, etc.) Paint is ugly. Interior isn't terrible, but the door panels are showing their age. seats are nice except for two tears on the back seat from a roof rack that a previous owner had in the backseat. Could use new carpet, but it looks like the front carpet has been replaced already at least once. headliner is nice and firm but has a few cigarette burns and small stains. most of the trim is there and in decent shape, it needs a reflector piece for the drivers side arm rest, and a door pull and some minor odds and ends, but I've seen a lot worse interiors. dash is nice except for a hole where there's what looks like speaker grating in the middle of the dash on top(see pictures)power locks not working, rear passenger window not working. driver side rear window works but may be off track. A/C has been converted to r134 already. Cruise control not working(I believe this is because the speedo cable is not hooked up) I bought this truck as a project, and spent the last 6 months gathering parts for it, but getting parts is easier than replacing them. I drive a truck for a living, and the 1 week I might get off in a given month just isn't enough time to devote to it, so I'd rather sell it than leave it sit and rust. It's not perfect and it's got its bumps but It runs and drives, and really it's only about 10% from being perfect, but that last 10% is the really expensive stuff(paint, interior). Honestly if you put another 4 or 5 grand into this thing it would be as good or better than anything they're selling on Wagonmasters. It just needs someone with the time to do it, or the money to make it someone else's problem. Asking $5500obo for the Jeep and the parts and work that have already gone into it. I plan on selling all the spare parts I've accumulated to cover the rest of the money I've spent, but if you buy the Jeep and would like some of the parts, I'm sure we can work something out. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING, AND THANK YOU FOR LOOKING! *UPDATE: Title is clean and clear, has new shocks installed and has a new battery. other work done; New 4 barrel AMC intake manifold with freshly rebuilt Holley 4160 Carb(choke needs a slight adjustment) Brand new manifold back exhaust. All new vacuum lines and hoses. new Water Pump, new Fuel Pump, new plugs and plug wires, new solenoid and cables/wires new belts, new filters and oil change, new windshield wiper fluid pump, timing has been set for the new carb. fixed wiring issues in the dash, with a new speedo cable the dash will be completely functional(except for the fried digital clock.) 6 speakers and a cd player in here(installed by previous owner). I will also be including some extra parts for it that are specific to the jeep. I have a set of pads and shoes, and a fuel filter, new U-joints, a 1.5in add-a-leaf for the rear end and some other stuff that comes with the jeep. |

Jeep team takes a field trip to Wagonmaster; researching next Grand Wagoneer?
Fri, 01 Feb 2013
They have the very best intentions of rolling out a seven-passenger vehicle.
Wagonmaster has made a name for itself restoring and selling factory-perfect Jeep Grand Wagoneer models, bridging the gap between when the last production machine rolled off the line in 1991 and present day. The company's efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The entire Jeep product planning team took a little field trip to the company's facility in Kerrville, Texas back in December, and they weren't just there to take in the sights. According to owner Leon Miller's son, Chip Miller, the Jeep team was there to do research for the successor to the Grand Wagoneer throne.
Next-generation Jeep Wrangler arriving at the end of 2017, diesel for 2019 model year
Fri, Jul 21 2017The folks at JL Wrangler Forums have come across some very juicy information regarding the next-generation Wrangler, thanks to an anonymous source who got the details from a dealer meeting. Among the information provided by the source is the timeline for the new Jeep's release. It will be fully revealed at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show, and it will hit dealers this December. At launch, the next-gen Wrangler will be available with both a 3.6-liter V6 with either a manual or automatic, and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that can only be had with an automatic. We expect this engine to be turbocharged and pack as much as 300 horsepower. It also seems Chrysler is still making good on its promise of a diesel Wrangler for this generation. Photos taken by a JL Wrangler Forums user show what looks like a diesel exhaust fluid tank underneath one of the prototypes seen above. There could be a bit of a wait on that powertrain, though. According to the JL Wrangler Forums source, it won't be arriving until near the end of the 2019 model year, so potentially at the end of the 2018 calendar year, and possibly early 2019. The other big news is that the anonymous source confirmed that there will in fact be a hardtop with a power sliding opening. The feature was rumored years ago, and we may have had our first look at it thanks to earlier spy shots also taken by a JL Wrangler Forums member. The photos showed a mysterious set of switches on the windshield header that may have been controls for the power top. This feature won't be available at launch according to the anonymous source, and will instead debut near the end of the 2018 model year, so likely early- to mid-calendar year 2018. Some other minor changes to colors and equipment were revealed also, and can be seen at the forum website, here. Related Video:
