1984 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 89,000 Miles, 4wd Runs And Drives Great, Nice Shape! on 2040-cars
Inverness, Florida, United States
This 1984 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is in great shape for its year! This vehicle is in excellent mechanical condition, starts right up and drives great! Most everything on this vehicle is all original, and is in amazing condition for its age, this vehicle is reliable enough to be a daily driver and classic enough to be a head turner!
The engine and transmission appear to be all original and are in great working condition, carburetor has been reconditioned at some point and normal maintenance appears to have been performed. Transmission shifts smoothly with no fluid leaks, brakes all are in good working condition, 4WD works as it should, the AC system is also original and is nice and cold! The interior is in great shape for its age, driver seat shows some cracking, otherwise all the seats are in nice shape, carpet is original and in good condition, as is the rest of the interior. There is one spot in the rear cargo area that has some discoloration, otherwise its quite nice inside. Body is in good shape, no rust on the underside of the vehicle, there may have been some rust repair at some point as the paint on the roof is a different shade starting at about 1/3 of the way down the roof. It feels solid though and doesn't appear to have any existing problems. Paint shines very well, as you can tell the woodgrain decals need to be replaced, but its still a good looking vehicle. There are some areas that we know of that need attention. The power windows all work but the motors sound like they are really laboring hard to put the windows up and down, it seems that the guides for the windows need to be lubricated or maybe some window motors replaced. The power locks work, though sometimes the driver door actuator does not work. Also it seems that a lot of the weatherstripping should be replaced as it is dried out. Also the interior switch for the tail gate window does not work, but it does work from the key switch in the tail gate. I'm sure there are a few other small things that I've forgotten about but this vehicle is in great running and driving condition. If you have any questions please ask before bidding! 2014 Jeep Cherokee: Introduction
Tue, 27 May 2014When we look back at some of the more shocking product launches of recent yeras, the Jeep Cherokee is certainly high up on the list. And we aren't just talking about its off-the-wall, polarizing design.
For starters, it brought back the iconic Cherokee nameplate - something Jeep enthusiasts have coveted for ages. But beyond that, it brought a new evolution for the Jeep brand. After all, the Cherokee is car-based - using the same compact platform that underpins the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. It has a greater focus on technology and refinement than ever before, in an effort to appeal to a new crop of Jeep customers. And powering it all is a new (optional) V6 engine paired with an equally new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Can the Cherokee's car-based roots still allow for a vehicle that's superb when the going gets tough? Will its design still be a love/hate affair in one year's time, or will it start to blend in? Is the powertrain strong enough to not only support the needs of daily driving and road trips, but blaze a few trails as well? We're aiming to answer all these questions, and more, over the next 12 months. Welcome to the Autoblog long-term garage, Cherokee.
2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel and SRT climb onto stage
Mon, 14 Jan 2013This is indeed a case of not knowing how much we wanted something until it arrived. We've been big fans of the Jeep Grand Cherokee ever since the new model arrived a couple of years ago, and while the update you see here might seem just a slight refresh, it's actually much more than that.
For starters, the 2014 Grand Cherokee marks the return of a diesel model here in the States, with Chrysler's new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 under the hood, churning out 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Of course, all of the Grand Cherokee's usual off-road goodies are on hand, with moderate tweaks to make it an even more capable vehicle when the going gets rough. Both the gasoline-fed 3.6-liter V6 and 5.7-liter V8 get the new eight-speed auto, as well.
The high-performance Grand Cherokee SRT also trudges on into the new model year, with very subtle tweaks found underneath the aggressive, slightly redesigned sheetmetal. The 6.4-liter Hemi V8 also gets eight-speed gearing, which Chrysler says will improve not only 0-60 times, but mid-range performance as well. Bring it on, we say.
Mazda2 nets Japan Car of the Year, Cherokee first US model to ever crack top 10
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The 2015 Mazda2 is quite high up on our must-drive list. Yes, the teeny, tiny successor to the 100-horsepower five-door is worth getting excited over, largely because the previous generation was one of the absolute best smiles-per-dollar values on the market.
While we eagerly await for our opportunity to take to the 2's helm, our expectations of the new car have just been heightened thanks to its win in Japan's Car of the Year competition. Called "Demio" in the land of the rising sun, Japanese journalists handed out Mazda's second COTY award since the CX-5 took the title in 2012.
In more surprising news, the new Jeep Cherokee has made the list of 10 Best Cars in Japan. The Jeep's triumph marks the first time an American car has cracked the top ten, finishing eighth. It's not, however, the first Fiat Chrysler vehicle to snag the title, following in the footsteps of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Fiat Panda. Still, the fact that an American brand can make such impressive inroads into the traditionally tough-to-crack Japanese market is a seriously big deal.
