Description: This Jeep Commando is the perfect vehicle for the outdoor lover. An open air body with a vinyl cover is ideal for throwing your gear in the back and heading to the beach. With a 5.0L 304ci
V-8 you can tow your boat where ever your heart desires. The matte black finish is the perfect color for the classic truck. The four wheel drive system and locking differentials you are sure to be able to get unstuck in any occasion on the fly.

Interior: The interior is simple, black, no carpets, but a painted floor with drain holes so water won't get the chance to sit. After a long day of mudding you can simply hose down the inside and call it a night. Black vinyl front and back seats keep a classic look while the gauges are mounted to a nice wooden backdrop.

Exterior: The beautiful black matte paint captures the look of truck that can get the job done. The tires are a perfect match for the 4 wheel drive system and ready for offroad use.

Drivetrain: The 304ci V-8 is a great powerplant with plenty of torque if you plan to tow or go for some light offroading duty. The engine is mated up with a TH400 automatic and it shifts smooth and works as it should.  The transfer case is the old gear driven type, Dana 20, and the 4wd works well.

2014 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. Here now is the list of finalists for the big prizes:

Jeep team takes a field trip to Wagonmaster; researching next Grand Wagoneer?

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

They have the very best intentions of rolling out a seven-passenger vehicle.
Wagonmaster has made a name for itself restoring and selling factory-perfect Jeep Grand Wagoneer models, bridging the gap between when the last production machine rolled off the line in 1991 and present day. The company's efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The entire Jeep product planning team took a little field trip to the company's facility in Kerrville, Texas back in December, and they weren't just there to take in the sights. According to owner Leon Miller's son, Chip Miller, the Jeep team was there to do research for the successor to the Grand Wagoneer throne.

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.
