Up for sale is a highly modified, professionally built 2 Door XJ Cherokee. I am listing and selling this Jeep for a friend of a fallen comrade in our wheeling group.

Specs: 1998 Jeep XJ Cherokee 2 Door Sport
Mileage: 154,xxx
Engine/Trans: 4.0L Six Cylinder & Automatic Transmission

This Jeep has it all. A fully built, professionally equipped rig that is extremely capable and offered at a fraction of what it would cost to replicate.

Mechanical: Grade 8/10
Starting with the drivetrain. The Jeep retains its original 4.0L Six Cylinder engine and trans. These motors carry a great reputation throughout the Jeep community as being "bulletproof" and have more than enough torque and power to turn the 35" tires. Engine runs and drives strong with plenty of life left.
- D30 front axle with D44 Rear Axle
- Disc brakes all the way around
- 4.56 Gears
- ARB Air lockers front and rear. (currently the ARB compressor is out of the truck, and it will need a new compressor or air source for the lockers). The locker lines and lockers are in great condition and work...they'll just need a new air source. winning bidder will get the non-working ARB compressor.
- NP231 Transfer Case w/SYE Kit
- Front & Rear CV driveshafts
- RuffStuff HD Differential Covers

Suspension: Grade 9/10
This thing rocks! It has a 6.5" Rough Country Long Arm Suspension Kit with adjustable front control arms, HD skid plate, 1.75" coil spacers in the front and taller blocks with 6" Rear springs net the Jeep a total of roughly 8" of lift. 3-Link front setup with upgraded steering stabilizer, track bar, etc. You will not find a more flexible XJ!

Exterior/Tires/Wheels: Grade 6/10
This XJ Jeep has been wheeled pretty heavily. The truck does have some fairly decent scratches, dents and dings. The person buying this Jeep understands that they are paying for the thousands of dollars in suspension, mechanical and functional upgrades that this jeep possesses.

- Bushwacker Pocket Flares
- ARB Snorkel
- JCR Offroad Winch Bumper
- JCR Offroad Tire Carrier
- JCR Offroad Gas Tank Skid Plate
- Rough Country 9500 Electric Winch
- JCR Offroad Rock Sliders

- 35x12.50R17LT BFGoodrich KM2 Mud Terrain Tires x 5
- 17" Steel Wheels x 5

Interior: Grade 4/10
Its a used 1998 Jeep. And its been offroad. Interior is fair with most things functional. Interior door handle is broken, seat is worn, etc.

Overall, this Jeep is a great option for an enthusiast who wants a capable rig to hang with the $25,000 rigs. There has been well over $10,000 just in parts added to this Jeep. That doesn't include the labor, time or original purchase price of the Jeep. Once again, this Jeep won't win a trophy at your local "show n' shine," but there aren't many XJ cherokees that will go where this one will for the reserve set on this auction

If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 612.275.8011 for details or info. Please bid with confidence and please ask if you have any questions or concerns

As always, I reserve the right to end the auction as it is listed locally as well.

Thanks
Calvin

FCA CEO Mike Manley will run Americas for Stellantis after PSA merger

Sun, Dec 20 2020

DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler CEO Mike Manley will run operations in the Americas when his company merges with FranceÂ’s PSA Peugeot early next year. FCA Chairman John Elkann announced ManleyÂ’s new post on Friday in a letter to employees. ManleyÂ’s role in the merged company had been a mystery. PSA CEO Carlos Tavares will run the overall company, to be named Stellantis. Shareholders of both companies will vote on the merger Jan. 4 to seal the deal creating the worldÂ’s fourth-largest automaker. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of March. PSA will get six seats on the new companyÂ’s 11-member board, which will be chaired by Elkann. The Americas, especially the U.S., are key to the new companyÂ’s success. Fiat ChryslerÂ’s Jeep and Ram brands are highly profitable, and Tavares has long wanted to sell PSA vehicles in the U.S. Manley has been the Italian-American automakerÂ’s CEO for 2 1/2 years, taking over when Sergio Marchionne died in 2018. Stellantis will have the capacity to produce 8.7 million cars a year, just behind Volkswagen, the Renault-Nissan alliance and Toyota. 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Alaska Cannonball | Oregon is on fire

Mon, Sep 10 2018

Our man Jonathon Ramsey is driving a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon on a 14-week, 14,000 mile journey across North America. Check out his first, second, and third installments.Port Orford, Ore. – On arrival at Battle Rock, just off the southern coast of Oregon, I had completed the (other) Trans-America Trail. It's a worthy Bucket List endeavor even before you get to the bits that challenge a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The first tests came in western Oklahoma, tiptoeing through and around swampy farmland. Once I got to Colorado, the difficulty scale increased with each day's driving. By the time I hit wildfires and constant detours in Oregon, I was ready for the trail to end. Here are a few more notes from the last half: When I filled up in Columbia, North Carolina just before getting to Oregon Inlet, the odometer showed 12,294 miles. When I filled up in Port Orford before heading north to Seattle, the odo read 18,008, for nearly 6,000 miles in three weeks. GPSKevin says his trail covers 5,184 miles, but detours are an unavoidable part of the experience. Utah wins my vote for the widest variety of beauty. Crossing into southeastern Utah from Colorado, the landscape is full of desert farms and endless visibility to mountains at the ends of the Earth in Monticello. It's plush high plains greenery on the way up and down Geyser Pass, then the rocky red pioneer-killing cauldron of The Spanish Valley and Moab. Scrub-filled rock formations stretch to Salina, then back up to verdant forests in both halves of Fishlake National Forest. A final rocky stretch west of Sevier, Utah fell into a rolling golden land past Black Rock, another trip into sparer mountains, then the final comedown to Baker, Nevada. Moab gets all the Jeep love, but there's plenty of fun all over the state. In Ely, Nevada I met a Harley rider headed east out of Oregon who told me, "It's all on fire. Whole state. On fire." The haze began not long after leaving Ely. By the time I departed Battle Mountain, Nevada hills showed their own scorched-earth scars, and science-fiction gray skies hid entire mountain chains. Detours were already longer and lengthier in the West because of closed roads, locked gates, and "No Tresspassing" signs. Now fire-centric detours and turnarounds joined the routine. The last day on the trail in Oregon, a 114-mile route from Glendale, through the Rogue River Siskiyou National Forest to Port Orford, was the hardest.

Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk

Mon, 13 May 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away.
Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners in June 2013, who can then take their cars to dealers. The dealer will reflash the final drive controller free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.
