I have owned this car less than two years and have run it very little.  I paid $7500 for it and installed a new starter and new battery--about $8000 invested.  It seems to be in good condition with the exception of: no AC; no heat; no dash lights, hence the low starting price.  I have a letter of appraisal for $10,000 in 2008.  There are two rust bubbles--one about the size of a quarter at the back glass and one about the size of a dime on the sun roof.  There is cracking to the drivers seat and cracking to the wood-looking dash and console pieces.  I have receipts where previous owner spent thousands (not hundreds) on this car.  I also have all the manuals pictured.  Email or call 276-865-5337.  Car is located in Haysi, VA.  Personal inspection welcome.  To quote from the previous owner's sales ad:  "It was repainted in 2007 in the original color with a custom ($3000) paint job.  The original walnut wood trim inside was replaced with new trim ($2500) in 2006. (But shows cracks as stated above.) Top overhaul (heads and valves)-2002; new brakes-2003; replace engine wiring and ignition harness-2007; replace a/c and hoses-2008; repalce wheel bearings-2009; and replace water pump-2010."  The car came out of South Carolina.

2013 Jaguar XF Sportbrake

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Editor's Note: Our reporter was anxious to get some time behind the wheel of the XF Sportbrake, even though Jaguar only had a very small window available for us to drive it. As a result, we weren't able to capture our usual original images to go with the Quick Spin story. Please accept our regrets, and Jag's lovely stock photography, instead.
The last wagon attempt from Jaguar was the X-Type, built between 2003 and that model line's unceremonious end in 2009. That X-Type and its legacy represent a real dog of a chapter for Jaguar, and for the Halewood factory where the barker was built. It was the final joke told prior to the brand's proper rebirth phase - a phase we're enjoying the heck out of today.
Current magnanimous Jaguar owner Tata can be thanked for this new wagon, the XF Sportbrake. Like all newness coming from Jag these days, this new wagon also feels lightyears more serious an offering, ready to compete squarely with established premium wagon makers across Europe. A Jaguar wagon in America is a far-off priority for the company, frankly. Still we deserve to know what we're missing for the time being from this (sometimes overly) cherished British firm.

Jos? Mourinho shares his fear in Jaguar F-Type R Coupe spot

Fri, 09 May 2014

Jaguar is in the middle of an image makeover. It wants people to know that it makes more than just big, comfy luxury cars. Underneath that there is an edge. In its recent ads, the company wants to be associated with a more tailored, witty form of villainy. The next step is showing that it's also fearless.
Many Americans might not be familiar with José Mourinho, but he's one of the premier soccer, or football, coaches in the world. He's nicknamed "The Special One." Mourinho worked his way up from an assistant coach to lead small teams but eventually took over international heavyweights like Real Madrid and Chelsea.
In a new ad for the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Mourinho talks about what it means to be afraid. You might think such successful people overcome their fears, but successful men are driven it, he claims. But being scared doesn't make a man weak - it makes him dangerous. Scroll down to understand what Mourinho is talking about and get an earful from the wonderful exhaust of the R Coupe.

Say goodbye to Jaguar's vestigial oval grille

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Jaguar has been on a campaign to replace any and all retro cues with modern ones. Just look at the current XJ and the one it replaced, or the XF and the S-Type that came before it and you'll know what we mean. The one remnant is the XK and its oval grille, in and of itself a throwback to Jags of old (which started to look more like a certain Star Wars alien in above-pictured XKR-S form). But don't expect it to hang around.
Newer Jaguars have been ditching the oval aperture for a more squared-off one, and the next XK will have to fall in line. But don't expect that to be the only change in store for the next-generation Jaguar coupe and convertible.
With the new F-Type now holding the more enthusiast-oriented ground, the next XK is expected to grow bigger, softer and more luxurious. That will likely mean a more commodious back seat as well, though that shouldn't be hard to do considering the lack of space in the back of the current model...
