I am selling a 2000 Jaguar S-Type with 173,106 miles on it. I am the 3rd owner. This vehicle has been in the family since 2001. The car currently has a warped head after it previously overheated in April 2012. Head sealer was run through the vehicle and it does drive short distances now with the vehicle's temperature gauge needle staying in the middle of the gauge. The interior is in good shape, paint has a few dents, one located on the left rear trunk ledge and one on the left front quarter panel where the fender meets the door. The tires have some tread left on them, some dry rot from the California weather. This vehicle has been maintained over the years with oil changes, brakes, service interval records available.

The vehicle has had multiple repairs over the years with all records available, recent repairs, parts include:

Throttle Body
Radiator
A/C compressor
Thermostat
Overflow reservoir.

This vehicle is fully loaded with sunroof and all power options which are working. Vehicle is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end auction early. Buyer responsible for pick-up and shipping costs. As previously stated vehicle only runs at safe temprature for short distances and should be transported via tow/trailer. Will accept cash, money order, certified check. Happy bidding!!

Jaguar XFR-S is motor-porn on a mountain road

Tue, 04 Dec 2012

The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S might have only been good enough to take the runner-up spot in our Editor's Choice top five debuts at the LA Auto Show, but we'd be hard-pressed to find a car with a more exhilarating exhaust note. As proof of this, Jaguar released a video showing the XFR-S tearing up a windy, European mountain road in close to a minute of hardcore driving footage.
The big blue cat has the same great exhaust note of the XKR-S, and the driver puts all of the car's 550 horsepower to work demonstrating the handling - and drifting - abilities of the new XFR-S. If there's any disappointment to be had, it's the fact that you have to jump to the 30-second mark of the video for any of the action to start.
Scroll down to watch the video, and be sure your speakers are turned all the way up.

Jaguar takes bite out of Mercedes' Magic Body Control chicken ad

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

We were quite impressed by Mercedes-Benz when it aired its Magic Body Control commercial, starring a group suitably funky chickens demonstrating their ability to jive to Diana Ross and the Supremes. Now, Jaguar has taken the opportunity to poke some fun at its German rival, releasing its own take on the Magic Body Control spot, and um, there's a big cat involved.
You'll really want to take a look at this video, which is just another sign that in terms of clever ads, Jaguar is doing quite well. We aren't sure if "Jaguar vs. Chicken" will make it onto TV any time soon, but it's still fun to see the British brand take the mickey out of Mercedes - it's rare to see automakers go after each other so bluntly in their marketing efforts. Scroll down to watch the video (we've also included a bonus video, Jag's recent "Cat In A Box" spot).

Jay Leno's Garage drives Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS

Tue, 27 May 2014

Steve McQueen might be the coolest American male of the 20th century. With movies like Bullitt and Le Mans, McQueen established himself as the king of cool of his era, and on the list of actors you would pick for a fantasy racing team - he or Paul Newman are the natural first choices. The latest Jay Leno's Garage video highlights one of McQueen's most special cars - a 1956 Jaguar XKSS.
Just 16 XKSS models were made because a fire at the Jaguar factory halted production. It was meant to be a street version of the company's very successful D-Type racer, with a modified version of its 3.4-liter straight-six-engine and a four-speed manual gearbox. McQueen clearly had an eye for great vehicles. He drove his Jag around Los Angeles years after it was a cutting-edge piece of technology. Since then, it became part of the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. Autoblog's The List even took a ride in it when the show visited the museum.
The XKSS is one of the pinnacles of automotive design of the '50s, and its association with McQueen makes this example even more extraordinary. Leno is in love with the car from the moment he sees it, and it's hard to argue with him. Between its emphasized curves and raspy exhaust, this is one sexy Jag. Scroll down to get an eyeful and earful from one of McQueen's favorite cars.
